    vBF2 First thoughts

    Well the vanilla server just went up and it was populated right away by curious regulars. Soon a handfull of pubbies came to fill the server with about 20 people at max.

    Now what were your first thoughts?

    Will vanilla incorporate teamplay?

    Or will it sink into a pool of smacktardery?

    I think it was a fun game that gave everyone a chance to fly but didnt involve much teamplay.

    It will be good to hear everyone's thoughts, but keep in mind that this was only a test tonight, and there were relatively few TGers on.

    We'll schedule an 'offical launch' one night soon, and get a bunch of TGers on and see how it goes.

    3) Support game play in a near-simulation environment. Where the focus of play would not be solely on doing what it takes to win, but doing so utilizing real-world combat strategy and tactics rather than leveraging exploits provided to players by the design of the game engine.

    Ditto. We can't get an INS server but we go ranked vanilla?

    Or, as I like to call it, rank vanilla.

    Oh, it's real.

    I didn't like it much at all. It got just so frustrating after a while- the spawn camping, the prone diving, the hitting tanks with AT rockets five times before killing them, the shooting ten rounds into a person only to turn around and get shot in the back, being magically spotted by a battlefield-wide scan while you are taking a five-minute journey along the boarder of the map to do sabotage...

    Good old Vanilla....
    I think Im going to call it Chocolate from now on, since its more of a dark, overused, far too loved type of thing.
    Dont expect to see me on that server in a while.. unless I want to die from nades... 7 times in a row... (theoretical, since I dont return to my computer in a month..)

    Randy, thats the second time you asked that question, and I still have no idea what its supposed to mean. People got pissed because I flooded the forum with responses. But what you are doing is just fishing for posts.

    Also, Ive noticed that your posts per day went up from 6.7 yesterday to 6.8 today.

    Vbf2 is good for one thing, and that is the whoring of attack choppers, which is fun until some one either hacks, or someone steals your chopper. Let vBf2 die, long live PR, and MAG.

    Man we used to have some great fun on the TG unranked vanilla server. I actually miss the Karkand river stand offs. Those games are what brought me to TG in the first place.
