With respect to this stamina thing...
Have the Dev's ever considered an "adrenaline boost" feature? say you get 1 or 2 "boosts" you can use when under fire or when u really need to turn on the juice and get out of trouble.
I can see that carrying 60 pounds wears you down, but if some terrorist is pointing an RPG at me, I think I'd find a way to get the hell behind cover! hell, you could even code it to make your screen blurry after u sprint for those 5 extra seconds to simulate being completely exerted and needing to stop and catch your breath.

-on a side note: this kind of reminds me of a time years ago while hiking the Apalachian Trail with a 60 pound backpack, I sprinted & jumped across a creek, and while catching my breath on the other side I looked down to see a hornets nest right under my feet! And you can bet I found a way to run...subsequently puking my brains out a quarter of a mile away followed by a 15 minute rest.

(PS: .8 just came out, I'm greatful for it, but it's never too soon to start thinking ahead, right?)

Warehouses post reminded me of something...

The only time Ive seen people jump, lay flat midair, and land (as in prone dive) is... I havnt. At most when they jump behind cover. Proning without being crouched first should result in taking like.. 5 to 10% damage.. it would stop the prone dive problem..

This is all well and good the first time you bring it out and might even fit if you switch to binoculars or another item.

However, my issue is that when you switch from deployed (4) to undeployed, it will do the same animation. It does not make sense for this to be happening and even as some form of balance to prevent switching between modes quickly, it does not work so well. You can switch from undeployed to deployed with hardly any delay, it's just switching back that it will run through the animation, which really does not make much sense - if you're firing your weapon from a prone position and want to start advancing, you wouldn't be going through those motions when you do so.. you would simply switch back to using it from the hip or shoulder.
That is a limitation of the engine. At this time, unless they find a different way, there is no method in which to have two animations for the same weapon deployment slot. i.e. the game can't tell the difference from switching 4 to 3 or 1 to 3. It has no idea. All it knows is you switched slots. So you will just have to get used to it. Here is how you get over that delay.

As an LMG you are support cover. You have other members of your squad. They cover you as you redeploy or move. When you are in position again and prone (#4) then they can go about doing what they are doing.

Squad Tactics. Squad Support. The game is a different animal now. Lone Wolfs and Rambos will die or get lucky.

Honestly, I'd prefer it if you had a large stamina bar, but having less than 50% stamina resulted in a significant slowdown in your walking speed. As an added bonus, bunny hoppers would SUFFER.

As for the LMG... I think the way we use the kit needs to be rethought. The LMG is no longer a basic infantry weapon with a higher rate of fire. Instead, it's the anvil: the rest of your squad acts as the hammer.

Re: Am I the only one who feels it was rushed sorta?

I hated the idea of limiting the squad kitting--ESPECIALLY after trying it out and not being able to get the same kit twice in a row to help my squad out! But now not every squad has a grenadier and SAW, including the enemy squads that you will run into in the future. This makes those kits far more important for your own squads to keep, more important for your squads to kill, and turns enemy special kits into a sort of "boss fight" surprise rather than making one out of every five monsters you run across have a SAW. I have finally decided that the kit limiting improves the game.

hrmm.. i don't know, i found that the LMG always acted that way, aka, suppressing an enemy squad so your squad can find a way around and take them out while they're cowering.

also, to the people who said "there is no such thing as too much reality" i can imagine in several ways there can be too much reality. for example, once you die in game, you are perma banned from PR. also, if you're badly injured, a medic can stop you from bleeding but can't get you up and going so you have to be taken back to base for proper surgical procedures which can result in A) being temporarily banned from PR while your character "heals" or B) perma banned from PR due to disabilities such as amputation, or blindness.

Wow I'd be banned in 3 seconds. Wonder how many unban requests the forums
would get then. Yeah that would be the end of PR.

I don't think it was rushed at all. It looks like a lot of thought and effort was put into the mod. I think the slowing down of the game is good for even more reality. You can't run in real life for 10 minutes with full battle gear in the desert, so why should you in PR? Everything in the mod is geared towards enhanced team play and squad play. You can't do anything alone anymore, just like in real life. Assets are also limited like in real life - you can't get a machine gun every 2 minutes. I think the mod is great so far and who ever made that huge city map put in a ton of work.

Its the slow refresh time that does it, the bar when full is not so bad. I'll time it next time I head on, but jumping sucks now especially for wrecking the bar.

My fav thing of 0.8, they fixed those dam buildings at hilltop. You dont have to jump to enter one, phew

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.
