Yes it is. Sorry but the caches are marked on the screen and the main is where the commandpost is. Every weapons cache have an RPG and a PKM at it.

Every cashe has pickups on it.

Either RPGs, PKMs, or SVD,s

on basra they spawn in the mosque on the north west corner behind the little fruit stand things. They also spawn some at the foutan where the cars spawn on the south east side of the map.

I see... haven't played much insurgency on 0.8 (even on 0.7) yet so forgive my noobness.

Weapon caches (marked) =! ammo caches (unmarked) -> correct?

Defenitely, one game mode especially on Korengal, a group of two insurgents can be a BIG problem to a whole coalition squad when ambushing enemy infantry with IED's, RKG/RPG's or just AKs.

I always like opening up on a column of Hummvees with my AK, it usually ends in me being .50 cal'd to death but its cool to see the sparks fly

I love insurgency as either team.

I Never really played it much in 0.75 as we didnt play it on TG and there maps crashed etc, but now that we do im loving it, i like setting up ambushes as insurgents but my favourite thing is cache hunting. With a full squad as Brit/USA it can be very fun walking/jogging around the map and hunting/gathering information.

Defending is one of my favorite aspect of the game and it's even more challenging when insurgent since you're often out gunned but it's always great fun. The only real downside I can think of right now is the hideout bug (you can only build 2) but I'm pretty sure it's going to be patched soon.

Mainbase = where the insurgent command post is.

I personally love playing insurgents.. I can make squadnames like "JihadCamel" and scream "ALLALALALALDIRKA JIHAD" in All chat when I Jihad... Jihading is fun...get virgins and whatnot.

And when Im not Jihading, its fun to use the AKs and find crazy things to do with Molotovs... did you know that AA missles lock onto Molotovs? *Remembers when we killed a guy once like that...*

All 0.756 tho..

Blue diamonds & purple markers are weapons cache, blue means the allies have the approximate location

I like insurgents but 60 second spawn time sucks when they are so weak and should have the greater numbers/reinforcements surely?

The ak is uber nerfed

Still plays better then 0.5 basra

I never really enjoyed playing insurgents because the AKs were too unwieldy. But with some of the suggestions and insights in this thread it probably will be more enjoyable. That and I still have to play the new maps!

Well, just like on Basrah: on Archer, there's weapons spawns behind the Mosque. Sometimes people will take them all so it might just be a patch of dirt. Good luck using that as a weapon.
