    Re: New to PR AGAIN.

Well, I finally got everything installed and working late last night as some of you may have seen. Only had one CTD after about an hour of playing. Guess that isn't to bad. The graphics seems a little off though, not sure how to explain it but I have all turned to high since I do have the 8800GT and that should handle everything fine. I also have my distance maxed out like I used to when I had the AIW X800XT card. But for some reason it just seems off, like they are blocky or something, hard to pin it down.

Anyway, I had fun on Kashan which I always loved that map, probably cause I loved sniping but last night I played completely as an engy riding atop a tank making repairs and eagle eying enemies for the driver and gunner. I had plenty of fun and yeah it felt weird to begin with but the cobwebs started getting pushed away the more I played.
In the training I did try flying a few times in the helicopters which it has either been so long and I forgot how touchy they were or they did some more tweaking on them as well. I will have to continue practicing on the heli's before making the jump to flying in multiplayer. I never did fly jets in PR cause I never got to them in time or they were already designated for a squad already and it most of the time was locked so I never fooled with them. Only helicopter I loved flying were the LB's anyway, especially the one with the guns(AH6 I believe it is?). Never liked the responsibility of flying a squad of people in on the MH6, always afraid of getting shot down and getting the negative scoring. Did that once a long time ago and gave up cause I got kicked from the server for the negative score.
Anywho, I have plans of getting right back in there in a few minutes. This time I am going to limit my play time so I don't wore out on PR so quickly....yeah right!!

I have Vista 64 and an 8800GT, if you want to avoid crashes -> set everything to max except for textures... put those on medium and your crashing days should be over. I used to CTD after 2 to 3 rounds and this was how I and many others solved it.

That was right, I forgot about the textures needing to be set down to medium. I had just built this computer when I last played PR and had a lot of the crashing issues then and I believe it was Bamboo that helped me out then. Last night I had constant CTD so had just gave up and went a watched TV. I did not check back on here cause I was so frustrated I did not need to be playing a team oriented game anyway.

I'm downloading now, I will be playing tomorrow night. It's been a while.........
