How to get started with the Project Reality Mod (for free!) (It is one of the stickies)
Get BF2, install the patch to 1.41, download the core files and the level files, read the manual, learn the server rules, and you're good.

Pretty much it, all you need to do if your up to date with BF2 Vanilla(plain BF2) is download the PR stuff which is just the actual mod and the levels and install mod first then put in levels and your set.
