Re: Mappable foot pedals?
I have anice set of CH flight sim pedels, but i cant seem to get them to work with pr. A toggle crouch key would be nice but as far as i know its hard coded.

Re: Mappable foot pedals?
Tralic are they the USB Pro Pedals? If so I'll write you a CM script to do it. I can make one pedal toggle and the other pedal momentary if you'd like.
This is also the solution I'd recommend for Wickens. The CH pedals are pricey but versatile and have unrivalled programmability. And they hold resale value pretty well.
I'll also see if I can find my helo and fixed wing scripts for BF2. I had a pretty nice HOTAS setup for vanilla back in the day.

Re: Mappable foot pedals?
Wickens, that is an outstanding idea! I think I'll have to build something now...

Re: Mappable foot pedals?
M.Warren uses a saitek throttle for tanks (since it was mentioned).
This is certainly an interesting idea. Also interesting is the idea of having multiple pedal sets... each with different function. One for PR, one for TS, etc.

Wickens, how on earth are you going to play with foot pedals and high heels?

When I get back into gaming, I'll be switching to something similar - ergonomic - way better for you. There are a few fancier ones. If you combined one of those with foot pedals, you'd be all set.

Re: Mappable foot pedals?
You could most likely map a Joy axis to it. I had (and i think I still have, in a closet) a Microsoft Sidewinder steering wheel, with joy-axis footpedals.
If you want to make it a fun DIY project, I imagine (not sure) that the circuitry for a simple on/off HID-compatible USB footswitch would be doable with kit pieces. Don't know though, I don't really do this type of stuff, but there should be tutorials for making your own USB devices.
You COULD always get a second keyboard, take off all the keys except one you never use on your main keyboard, attach a piece of plywood to the key, and call it a day.

Re: Mappable foot pedals?
sorry i am so late to this thread, but all you would have to do is change the pedals from axis to bands in your profiling software, then make it one band and set that band to your crouch button. that way whenever you hit the pedal you will be in crouch. I have the saitek rudder pedals, and I just tested it, it works with how I described, but I would assume the same would be true for any pedals you got.
and honestly, this is a great idea that I never thought of
Depending on the mouse you have, you can always bind it to that too. I use a logitech with uber options installed, and I can bind a inordinate number of things to my mouse....very helpful.
