I personally would like to see the alternate variants of AAS 3 used more often. Qwai and Fools are great fun with this variant and wish we can see it more often. One thing ive grown tired of is the repetition of strategies and no real challenge to playing maps.

Where, exactly, have you played Qwai and Kashan with the random cp variants? I'd love to know, because the random cp feature is broken on every map but Operation Barracuda and won't be fixed until version .85.

Here on TG. I specifically remember a bridge flag on Qwai and repeatedly having to take the Forest flag CP on Fools Road which was located in the checkpoint on the road from the bridge. It was about a month ago late one night. It was pretty fun but people got really confused at the order and with no commander it was quite annoying. What exactly is wrong with variant anyway? Is the CP order screwy or what?

Umm - I don't recall playing any other AASv3 map on TG other than Barracuda.

The AASv3 is broken; it doesn't work the way it should like on Barracuda. I don't know the details yet, but I would believe it has something to do with the CPs not functioning properly, because that's what the whole game mode is based on.

Maybe it was a round of C&C? Where there are no set capture points and the team has to put up firebases to act as CPs...

No it was AAS 3. I remember Wrecking and I in the armor squad and Fuzzhead leading infantry trying to take some flag at the checkpoint in Fools road, we had to take it back like 5 times because the other guys in our team were dumb and following the normal cap order. They probably remember if you ask them.

Regardless, AAS3 is broken except Barracuda, so we won't be seeing it used here until .85 is released.

Re: I would love to see more Skirmish maps

The problem with AAS 3 on Qwai 32 and Fools Road 32 is that one side can not capture flags because AAS does not show. This is great for the other team but gets boring rather quickly. It does not happen all the time but enough to have the maps pulled from regular play.
