*(much love to the US Army M24)
**(Unless you have the USMC M40A3, I can never hit anything with that rifle, seems like deviation is too high over medium-long distances even when you have it at it's lowest)
Anyways, M40 complaints aside, I'll look for you on the server! Welcome welcome!

Rephrase then....

Snipers are less accessable to the common player and much more difficult to use properly. But in skilled hands, they are a great asset.
Too many people want it because it's "cool" or something, then get their heads blown off.
Better?
Yeah, I don't snipe. Tried it a few times and ended up wasting the asset. So I stick to Marksman. Much love to the US Marksman rifle. Great weapon. Even the MEC one is pretty good. Can't notice much differance in the Chinese rifle from a standard scoped QBZ, but I'm sure it's a bit better.|TG-AIR| - Gone, but still awesome! **Proud Former Member**

Re: A quick hello + questions...
Uh no?
There are times when a CO can actually change the tide of a match. Not only does this position allow for grand strategy manoeuvrings if all players are actually willing to follow orders and if they are reporting enemy movement [Lets you tasks certain assets that counter said enemy]. It allows for team wide communication and intel transfer, which is always a plus since no one really pays too much attention to team chat. They can assign things to certain squads which reduces the high amount of asshatery that revolves around asset usage. They can call in jdam/area attack and what have you. The best trick though, which I like to use when I was CO'ing for a week was to go to maximum zoom level 3 and just listen, its amazingly easy to tell what is what after a while, such as if there is a tank or apc or vodnik/hummer in the area, or if the enemy squad has a hat/lat/mg etc, it's almost cheating (yet still involves a little guess work)
bleh rant over.
Also the sniper is only as good as the player who uses it.

Re: A quick hello + questions...
I have seen the CO be very effective, but the SLs need to follow the orders. It really depends on the marrige of SL and CO. We had a game yesterday where the SLs basically ignored me and the whole thing fell apart. It is really a requirement that teamwork prevails to make the CO "worth" something.

Yeah on saturdays password night I think it showed how needed a commander can be. Simply because the rounds where one team had a commander and the other didn't the team that had a commander won.

Re: A quick hello + questions...
When I'm commanding, I hate it when a squad leaves the flag to go chase a squad, or to do a 'sweep'. Then we lose the flag, and they have to assault it all over again. Or if a squad doesn't know what ASAP means.

Re: A quick hello + questions...
First off sometimes if you are defending a flag it is sometimes easier to defend off the flag. A good example would be fishing village on Qwai. so going to chase after enemy squads is sometimes a good idea. Also As soon as possible does not mean now, so if you say move to flag x ASAP I will start moving when I am able to move there safely or when I feel I am able and not immediately. Which seems to be what some commanders want when they say ASAP.
