Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
Just to echo what Disposable said...THIS NEEDS TO STOP! We have a reputation to uphold gentlemen, lets not tarnish it. I know that Disposable is basically a one man ship right now admin wise, so we all need to help him out from time to time.
Great post Dispo...

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
!The huge flux of new players the last couple of months have made some players lock their squads and or feel the necessarity to find the less experienced players 'not worthy'.
Although i also see this, i have also seen very good teamplay with the new players mixed with veterans. The last 2 weeks i have had very good squads with mixed players.
Maybe we should, as TG members, be more controlling of our own instead of looking down at those that are new!

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
I just want to clarify:
Portable.Cougar, Cola88, Nardini and Ollie ALL do an excellent job as admins. We are a team, and no one of us is any more or less important than the other.

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
As one of the "offenders" for using locked squads on a regular basis I have to disagree with their usefulness. I have no issue with inviting those who ask and act responsibly in the squad (good games last night btw Wharehouse) but find that having the squad locked especially in an armor squad or a squad in contact cut down greatly on the unnecessary comms that all too often clog up the VOIP and distract from your situational awareness.
As for stacking I can't say I've seen a lot of it as of late and also wish to thank the admins who are quick to offer to shift our guys over to the same side. If it helps quell the cries of stacking you can throw the bulk of TF21 on the opposite team to shore up the numbers if need be as well. Just make sure it's during one of the times that Skud's back from the kite flying school so that I can throw a 120mm enema into his shiny airplane

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
also directed at warlab
Just wanna comment on this since i was sleepy when i wrote the other post.
The point i was trying to make is not that in house squads per say are bad, but my opininon on how we get the server back on track is to spread out in the squads on both teams, that way it's alot easier to show what TG is and what it stands for.
I can give you an eksample from yesterday i was on the not stacked team trying to get something out of all the new guys that were on the server (was almost impossible) now have i had 1 or maybe 2 TG guys in the squad to help set an example for the new guys they would have understood what TG is about alot faster, now it ended up with them getting the impression that TG just wanna PWND everything and really don't care how the game is played out.
It's easy to see why the server is going the way it is when WE are not setting examples for the new people.

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
I'm not so sure everyone really understands the intent of my post, or maybe you do and the response is to post a personal pet peeve about TG that may or may not be a piece of the puzzle. I don't want this thread to degenerate into a debate about locked squads, stacked teams, asset hogs, etc.
Stacked teams are not the problem. Locked squads are not the problem. New players are not the problem. Players who do not visit the forums are not the problem.
These are all symptoms; pieces of the larger puzzle if you will.
The intent - the message - of the post is for each of us, regardless of SM status or what squad, if any, you belong to, is to look in the mirror and take some personal accountability. We're all guilty of doing some of the things mentioned in this thread. The easiest and quickest way to "fix" the "problem" is to have each of us not worry what the other members in the community are doing, right or wrong, and instead just focus on doing the right thing ourselves. Try to be the best representative of TG that you can be and everything else should take care of itself.

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
I am all for squadding with, mentoring and helping public players. We may want to start refering to non-TG members as public players, not pubbies. That would be a good first step toward not degrading their worthyness in the server.
I think us TG members need to do a better job of policing our teams by watching for activity that is truly worthy of reporting. Otherwise, we should welcome in new players and try to talk to them about the forums in play to get them interested enough to read and understand the rules and credo of TG. Spend some time mentoring while SLing.
It is pretty bad out there lately, but I am confident we can turn the tide with some work. It should not be 100% fun out there for anyone in an in-house squad. Maybe 90% fun, but not 100%. Spend the extra 10% talking, watching and mentoring.
It is really up to us "regulars" to do the right thing and be bigger than the game.

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
Agree with your post here disposable...
this especially rings true in my eyesI think one of the strengths of this mod is you can play it in a great many ways...Familiarity breeds contempt.
Regular Light Infantry Squad
Airbourne Infantry Squad
Mechanized Infantry Squad
AA Infantry Squad
AT Infantry Squad
Engineer/Repair/Recover Squad
Logistics/Ammo Squad
Transport Squad
APC Squad
Armor Squad
AAV Squad
Recon Squad
the list goes on and on...
I think alot of players get too hung up in playing a specific way every time they play a map. Try something different, HELP THE NEW PLAYERS OUT. It's not always about winning. Play with new people, you might learn something new and have a good time as well

Ferris, people want you for medic b/c you're the best one around!
And I agree w/ everything Disposable said here... I was noticing a decline in maturity on the server over the last month and was getting tired of it. Hopefully people will wake up and quit being smacktards.

Re: The decline of civilization as we know it and how to stop it
Let me put a newcomer eye on this.
First i want to congratulate Disposable for is post i think that it say a lot of the community. What i mean is, when someting is wrong you ll talk to each other and try to find a solution. Sometime it take longer post and some time smaller.
Second. Im only played PR for a couple of weeks now and ived tryed other servers and to this day your the one who have the greatess teamplay. Even the servers where they speak in french ( my native language) cant offer me what i live on Tactical gamers server. its true that the last week was a little confusing (all the thing said above like lock squads and insult on chat) but i dont think its to late to come back on the road.
Third. Your one of the most organized community ived ever seen. Its natural to lose a little controle over times but i think that with message like the one of Disposable all things could take its place.
To all the admin continue the great work
To all the members listen to what your brother in arms are saying dont feel attack i think its for the best.
