LOL thanks Dis, as I wipe the egg off my face I at least am comforted by the fact that my prayers may be answered. I really need to check out the PR forums more often, obviously! I don't like to see the work in progress stuff as I am impatient and it just makes things worse. I just hope they can make this work, sounds like the forest is going to be too much to ask for due to the limitations and lag etc. Oh well I can but hope.

I concur Urban combat, ramiel has shown how urban combat and urban combat with vehicles/mech inf can really be utilized, and how well it can work.

Ramiel is a great training map for infantry squads, using cover formations, searching houses, and setting up perimeter's. It is also a great map to practice communicating as a squad and as a SL to a squad.

I hope to see more urban maps, or larger maps like the link that dispo posted in the future.

    But in general:

a huge map with only 2 flags , with moutains, large forest, swamp or whatever is appealing.

the 2 flags would be easy to defend, with trenches all around it. that would make the firefight last longer. i want epic inf fight with tracers and rockets going everywhere.

i dont like rushing a flags to cap it, then abandon it to go cap another. this really makes the games boring sometimes. i like holding a position and just shoot whatever is crossing your path.

How about smaller infantry maps? Like a small, custom 16p for seeding purposes?

I started one like that while ago when playing with the editor...

Re: What would you want in a map?

    very interesting guys.

has anyone ever taken the fight to the outskirts of gulf of oman?

I'd really like to see a map like that, rocky hills with huge view distance.

    versions:

    64: everything

32: Apcs, transport choppers possibly, and the standards. (hmmv, supply, etc)

16: Like kashan, all inf with trucks and choppers.

One with a tight urban area, and plenty of inside combat. Flags where your squad has to hold certain points(like stand in a spot) to secure the flag completely.

I LOVE maps like Qwai, Operation Ghost Train, and Bi Ming. I think PR we need to look to our roots and play more reasonably sized maps.

a huge map with 64 flags

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.

Re: What would you want in a map?

I think the maps are pretty good in general but what I'd really like to see is the actual map that you can display in game to show some more detail info like hill elevation and such. This will give SLs and COs a better idea on how to approach certain key points on the map.

Re: What would you want in a map?

A granada or panama themed map. Basically a blend between Operation Barracuda and Kashan desert.

A Jungle map with a decent size, maybe a small town in it like in Jabal or even Ejod the airport and most importantly the assets. Basically Kashan with less armor so you have grunts on the ground.

2 Apcs one or 2 tanks one attack helicopter And one jet fighter or bomber. Infantery gets to call in armor and direct CAS on hostile infantery.
