Re: Sick of putting in the disk all the time?
FYI I am getting a 'cannot mount image' error when I download the mini disk you have listed.
Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

Re: Sick of putting in the disk all the time?
There are other programs out there. One that has come in handy for me is something called Magic Disk. It worked when Daemon failed me.

Re: Sick of putting in the disk all the time?
Ok, i think i uploaded the wrong file by accident D:
Hold on, let me upload the right one...
Put this one+the one you already downloaded in the same folder together and mount this one instead, not the smaller file.

Re: Sick of putting in the disk all the time?
Yeah, there are other programs that will work besides Daemon Tools such as Alcohol120, PowerISO, and MagicISO to name a few but Daemon tools is the one I like best. IF you have problems with other games not wanting to run properly you can "Exit" out of daemon Tools and usually that will solve the problem and then if not, you can always disable Daemon Tools from starting up with the computer and that almost always works. WIC works fine for me while using Daemon Tools though.
I have used mini images for the past 4 years if not longer. Most games already have the mini's made and work fine. I also got it tired of when I had to install BF2 with the 5 disc I made one install DVD. So, I have a back up of the product key and the back up DVD(I made) so the originals never need to leave their safe case on my computer desk.

Re: Sick of putting in the disk all the time?
Wouldn't improve load-times much when it comes to BF2. All the data in on the hard-drive.
For Starcraft that makes sense; older games didn't install all data to drive because people didn't have big hard drives.
As far as mini-images go, I've never bothered, not worth the work.

Re: Sick of putting in the disk all the time?
This is great, it loads the game up much faster and lets me keep my dvd-drive closed. Ive also had problems in the past with the game not loading with the disk in the drive and this takes care of that problem.

Re: Sick of putting in the disk all the time?
Load times should not be increased by using a mini image and Daemon Tools people. The game files are already on the hard drive(HDD), the disk was only used to start the game by verifying the disk.
To get faster load times of PR get a second HDD and put BF2 and PR on the second HDD, this frees up the primary to run the operating system only OR get a faster primary HDD if BF2 and PR are installed on the primary.
If the game starts up faster with the mini image then you may just have a slow optical drive using the original disk in the optical drive.
