Re: Forswear TeamSwitching
To disco, and the others, about:
I think disco, perhaps you underestimate this effect.
Take a round of Kashan. If your in a hopeless team. And say your Game crashes. Are you going to reconnect? Perhaps, but if you were not really enjoying getting raped (happens to the best of teams even), there is an increased chance of you calling it a night. Whereas if you were on a great team, having fun, it is highly likely that you will reconnect.
This nicely named 'social migration' will have a really debilitating effect on a losing team on a long complicated map like Kashan.
I believe this effect is so strong that it often has more bad influence on team balance, than teamswitching. One can hardly come down on people for quitting a game they aren't enjoying. What other reason could one have to play?
Therefore, balancing in-house squads and regulars is the best way to cope with team imbalance in my opinion. Restraint in switching to the winning team or switching to a faction you like more is an important factor too though. What it's like to play online games as a grown-up:http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-i...e_gaming/1.jpg

Re: Forswear TeamSwitching
I will do my very best to not team switch, but I agree with Skylark - it has to happen sometimes. I agree to only swith when it is in the best interest of overall game play, never for kits or to get on another side for particular weapons.

Re: Forswear TeamSwitching
I will not teamswitch unless:
- I am reconnecting after being dropped from the game as I will then try to rejoin my squad.
- The other side has considerably less players.
- There is serious tactical play on the other side; for example, crawlingeye is practising his large squad tactics and there is room left.

Re: Forswear TeamSwitching
How about having a day/week where everyone intentionally switches to MEC/PLA/Militia/Insurgents?
I noticed that even if you have experienced players on an opfor team, they never perform like they would on blufor team for some reason, some just complain like 'lets get this over, so we'll be GB/US next round' or look for a way to "attack" on a defensive map, there's even players that evade Insurgents and refuse to play as Insurgent because there seems to be this stereotype that Insurgents are cannon fodder who posses no assets, abilities or tactics and just run around getting shot.

Re: Forswear TeamSwitching
Ive swapped over to insurgents lots of times as I like those maps anyway. If all the ally squads are full its better to just swap over anyway
It can be frustrating trying not to bleed to death just leaving a cave or whatever but they get tons of ied and rpg firepower now.
