errors while installing 8.5
so...the core installed fine, but with levcels i got "the source is corrupted" errors on the following maps:
ejod
zolensk
operation archer
qwai 1
Ramiel
sunset city
did i just get a bad download?

Sounds like it, run the levels torrent over it, the file should get repaired

Happened to me as well but on Core. This happens to me on every single PR release, I should have expected it.

Had a small error with manual not being able to open because of it not being installed, figured the file i downloaded didn't include it, for some reason, but its no problem if you get that one, ok it, and go read the online one

strange i havent had any problem installing PR, whats your computer spec?, do you have the latest windows installer?
xp or vista?

what part of "BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW PATCH, UNINSTAL AND ERASE THE OLD PR FOLDER" didnt you get?

i did uninstall the old version first. i just got a corrupted copy from my torrent i guess. i re-downloaded from one of the direct DL links and its fine.
