Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
My squad on the Chechen side had quite a bit of down time as we put up three or four FB's in various locations, but spent most of our time in the west woods up north and down by the water. At one point, our squad was spread out along the entire coast line covering the western edge of the map to the middle. It looked cool.
In CNC mode, the enemy apparently comes from any and every which direction. Nothing was secured unless somebody was standing on it.
Good times. Good job and commanding Soccer. Lots of fun.

it was awesome hands down a great way to start of the .85 update....great teamwork all around and for those who had to express their complaints, remember say it to yourself, you choose to type out that bs jargon and none of us want to hear it.
Koz its a great map, i really felt that i was part of a military that was using cold war relics, the ak's are awesome, great job by both teams....and to our commander's who stepped up for this CnC round great job!Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

Chechen Logistics SL here, had some great fun, but the terrain just kicked my butt ;/
We need to figure out why the Combat Engineer for the Chechen forces is so poor, he can't afford a wrench to remove a mine.

Yeah, all in all it was a good round. My squad was up at the nortern complexes mixing it up with the Cechs and their APCs. Hopefully managed to buy our team some time! The only bad thing was that rampaging technical handing our asses to us!

Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
My russian sq took and got assaulted in the C5 complexes in the initial start. Had to resort to dirty chechen rebel hit-run tactics when we came back by speedboat apc. Was sweet a couple of my guys still alive for a looooong time just reporting positions and assets and staying low. Grouping back up with us on the western edge to re-assualt 15 mins later without a scratch.
Lesson for next time: dont deploy a FOB without getting some AT's out. All our crates got waxed and we had little to shoot at the spandrels with.

Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
Wow, I couldn't put my finger on it... but CR8Z summed it up perfectly. LOL
It was definitely more difficult to command than the previous CnC style because the objectives and "front lines" changed constantly. When we used to build four FOBs and then attack their main base, we could at least have a phase 1 (build FOBs and establish areas of control) and phase 2 (send in 1-2 squads to attack). The way it is now, we have to build four FOBs and just wait out the tickets. It felt like we were in a war with no clear objective except to kill people.
But on the good side, no squad was bored and everyone was essentially on the front line (even our poor logistics squad who was transporting crates through hot zones constantly). Thanks for everyone's hard work though. Any round that ends with only a 10 ticket difference is a good round!

Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
In retrospect, I agree with Soccer that building up our FOB's should be the first priority, but maybe we should have leapfrogged them. Establish a couple of bases and then move out the others. I lost a logistic truck the first run out to enemy fire, and it took quite some time to get any other FOB's up after that. It sounded like there were plenty of casualties on that terrain.
Also, I think a better use of the comm and logistics trucks could have been employed. For instance, since the comm truck only has one crate and the logistic truck has two, we could have had four squads take one comm truck each and have each logistic truck deliver one crate to each squad. Technicals and Spandrels providing support. Just thinking out loud.
Having a technical with us also saved our butts on more than one occasion.
Setting up the FOB's in CnC seems to be more difficult because there is no clear objective other than to just build them.
I think Soccer did a great job commanding, but I would liked to have had more time to put a strat together. Perhaps next password night???

Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
It was very fun, and very long. The teams were only an APC or tank away from losing, The Chechynans lost an APC I think, and that lost them the game.
It was a great effort of both teams, especially their commanders.|TG-69th|Berlancic2"Speed. Aggression. Surprise."

Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
Yep, loved the round! Kinda long, but intense! Was in Cougar's squad and we were charged with the road FB, kinda in the spearhead.... Tank gave us hell, but we did a good job... Got wiped eventually at the end of the round, but was good as we rebuilt another firebase and were able to take out 2 tanks and an APC at the end of the round only using RPGs, hehe.
Was cool, hope to have one more again!|TG-69th|Kevlar

Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
That was one of the most hectic and fast paced rounds I have played. Squad members were falling all around me as I lay on the ground wounded and then the medics would fight them off and revive us. The fight for the Center hill was a hard one with the scout PPSHs always senaking up on us and mowing half the squad down. My squad's medics csxgamers and Qfly were very reliable and they are the only reason our squad stayed alive so long. Unlike other CnC this one really didnt have a frontline like others have said, you could walk, drive or boat almost anywhere bu when you came close to an enemy firebase all hell broke lose.

Re: CnC Sunday, January 25 - Kozelsk
I played around in 10th squad was lots of fun!, but I must say that any team-staking theory's about them are myth-busted.
Play with one or two and they are the 1337 players you expect them to be, put four or more in a squad and they run around like headless chickens 8)
