Re: very sad
i dont recommend the DL copy, just look for a copy in the cheap bins
or...... all you need is an image of the disc...

^ Worked fine for me when I went home for vacation and left my BF2 CD at school. Just get an image of the disk, download a free copy of some image mounting software and you'll be good to go.

I used Alcohol120 to mount it, others use DeamonTools I think.
You can buy BF2 for $9.99 or less now at most retail stores (the ones that are still in business that is! lol).|TG-X|WAREHOUSE

I use deamon tools. works like a charm, even in vista 64 bit

Have you guys ever had any punkbuster issues while using a mounted image? I tried using an image awhile back and was booted for the ms5tool thingy and thought it might be related to me using the image instead of the cd.

Crack etc. Talked to one of the EA guys once when I had trouble with my disc, even they approve of it as long as you use your own key.

Yeah, I have a mini-image (4mb) and I run it with Daemon's Tools...
Works perfect for me and my BF2 DVD is as new as when it got to me from the store (and it's been a while).|TG-69th|Kevlar

the only thing that matters is your cd-key...nothing else...
You can use a mounted image...

Thanks for all the responses..... in the end i scoured all over Melbourne trying to find a copy, everywhere i went said it had be discontinued. Finally someone checked out the back in their store and they had one copy of "Battlefield 2 the complete collection" all the booster packs.... wait for it.... it set me back $89. At least it had patch 1.41 integrated.
Lesson to be learned.... guard and protect your disk.
Cheers
