They cost tickets, and nothing makes me happier when I find abandoned support or logistic trucks that I either destroy with my squad, or point out for my SL to have squadmember(s) to destroy.
It also makes me very sad to see trucks left out in the open, or logistic trucks abandoned with no player to bring them back, and then I or my squad has to bring it back and get or request transport to our location from the main. In Arma, yes this could be considered routine, PR is not Arma.

UK didn't mention it, and many of you are probably sick and tired of me talking about it, but transport choppers and Little Birds are not meant to be flown around the map if they are not needed.

Transport Choppers = 10 tickets (i think the LB's = 5 but it still doesn't give you a green light to use them at your disposal if they are not needed).

If you decided to fly transport, drop off troops, drop off supplies and bring them (the helos) back to base or the carrier, don't fly them around them around once you get back because accidents happen and well, you just wasted ten tickets for your team, land them, get out. And , tha....nothing is more frustrating than to witness players (especially ones who are regulars in the forums and the server) fly around because they feel they are entitled to......

Muttrah City yesterday would have been a lot closer in tickets, and might have even gone in favor of the US if it had not been for some helicopter pilots who used their choppers as a way to lose tickets.

Also its important to make sure as a infantry SL and squad member that after there is firebase up or after your SL has set a rally that you don't have your original spawn point at the main base unless otherwise authorized, that way you don't spawn back at the main and then harp at the transport pilots to bring you here or there........instead of saying its common sense i will use "Principle" in its place.

I know find it humorous in a dark sense of humor way when i see at the start of the map at least 2 locked squads for transport and 2 locked squads for CAS.

I have begun to understanding the reason behind a 2 man logistics squad if its sole purpose is logistics and when it is allowed having a combat engineer (i believe you need at least 2 men for that kit) due to the ability to create fire bases and bunkers, i had the chance to be a part of 2 recently and it was a lot more fun and required a lot more discipline than i had originally thought.

The transport helicopter thing still bothers me......I think the root of it started with the first version of Muttrah and maybe Zatar wetlands......but by now I would only hope that the bf2 helo mentality would subside....then again maybe i should just stop giving more credit off the bat to players who pilot helicopters in PR in general.

(I only hope that more players who are frequenting our server as of late have taken the time to visit the forums, even if they choose not to register, and poke around and maybe they will read these threads and a light bulb will go on)
    Stop! Hijacking my thread

The thread is about Logistic trucks...not helos lol

i'm not an hardcore PR player but when i do get around to play.... it really annoys me to see vehicules laying around the field everywhere.... one round i had a non-TG SL that, thank god,....had an head on his shoulders.... we passed half the map trying to recuperate all the assets that we could.... god the whole squad was steaming against the team

now i know most of the time NON-TG are doing it but sadly... i've seen a couple TG guys doing it too.... that is going low...

i wasn't hijacking your thread, but on maps like muttrah and even on barracuda the helo's are in a sense logistic trucks and should be handled the same way as logistic trucks, especially when troops are not needed for transport.

    Cause it's not ok!

    1. You should be asking commander if it's ok to have a snipper squad, thats if there is a commander, if there isnt how effective would that squad be, Ie what role they would take on for the better of the team. (It's not all about racking up sniper kills) good recon can be gathered from GOOD snipers) A sniper should always have a spotter, maybe doubleing up as a Medic.

    2. Why would you?

    A. Be useing a valuble asset as a taxi? when it could be used to carry a squad of troops in the first wave of the operation, and also be used to build an F.O.B

    B. Snipers useing a command truck to get to or near their perch, is crazy, their position would be given away before they even fired their first shot.

Hahaha, yes...it was a joke. I tried to plus rep you UK for making me laugh so hard when reading your post ... but it said I had to spread some more around before I gave it to you again.

At the beginning of each round, I ask my squad members to NOT take the marksman or sniper kit... and I can't even use these kits effectively myself. Hahaha. But yes, it was major sarcasm in my previous post.

I see the US team lose on muttrah all the time do to the choppers. Even if they don't lose the choppers everyone seems to have to pilot one and there are like what 6-8 at map start. 30-32 player average on any given team. Thats what a quarter of the team sitting on the carrier waiting to transport people?

The worst part is if they get bored because nobody wants to fly with the new guy and do not need to either because 2 pilots aremore than enough after the marines gained a foothold off the carrier, they get bored and start hovering over you spamming "get in".

Your only hope is that a sniper kit is avaiable and he goes sniping instead.
