Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
Seprate just like Teamspeak, most of the times the teams are set up the same in TS as in Mumble, team 1 is x and team 2 is x

Knowingly being in the wrong channel for the purpose of running around the map spying on the other team's mumblers will get you kicked/banned, correct?

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
May I suggest something? Its something small but it could greatly reduce the "What team is this?" question. Could you guys contact the PR Mumble server admins (or if your channel admins can do it) and have the channel names changed? Change them to Blufor and Opfor.

Simple. Most can understand which force is which without having to ask with force center.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
No, because you switch between Nato and Cata (Still PC I think) each round, so it will mean you will have to alt tab every time to switch channels

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
Good point. I hope they work out the auto-channel feature idea that has been passed around.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication

Just a small not for users running vista, You must run the program as administrator or Local voip and other things will not work.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
I really think splitting up the teams in two seperate channels is the best solution, here TG is ahead of the other gameservers.
I wonder, what would TG benefit from having their own Mumble-server? I see only upsides by using the official one..

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
Well it always feels better to have something "own"...
But I really prefer going onto the PR server to see how many guys are playing where and then I decide what server to join, so if all the TG guys are on their own server I might be too lazy to check it regularely.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
I am not sure why so many TG players remain on Teamspeak while on mumble, I assume its cuz you guys like to chat while ingame? when I was in iGi we did the same since we liked to have a laugh.
But as a teamwork tool I would say Mumble by itself is the best way, if you are a player in need of a radio function, the SL channel is there, if you are not an SL, tell your SL the info and he'll pass it along.
The point of Mumble in my eyes is to increase cross-squad teamwork without increasing VOIP traffic to unworkable levels. (i.e. to prevent a blue asking another blue for help when they are right next to eachother when everyone can hear them talking on teamspwak)
I love that TG use 2 channels btw
nice one on that.

10th (Germany) have some great AutoChannel Changing features, something about the PR official server is preventing this atm, not sure what...but TG might consider their own server if they can get this working like 10th.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
The 10th guys, or at least their admin, is a nice guy.
Ask one of the 10th members on mumble about him, maybe you'll get some info. I had the mail adress of this dude I think, but just dunno where it is atm.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
I use mumble and TS, and the main reason I stay on TS is because there are still quite a few members of TG who either don't always get mumble running or never have it running. Most of the chat on TS is still game related if its in the Coordination channels. Because of this its only possible for me to quickly contact them through TS which isn't a major hassle for me having three voip programs running but it would be nice if all of TG switched to mumble.
