Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
I think he means when the next version is coming out.
I've not seen R-DEV Twisted in ages, so I think his projects are either super super secret, or he is not working on it atm?

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
New Mumble user with a question..
In terms of key bindings, is it necessary to have separate keys for VOIP and Mumble(and TS for that matter)? I am assuming that you could echo if you do...
I ask because if I want to yell something like "Grenade!" then I want to tell all teamates close by AND all my squadies who are not on mumble."Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard." - H. L. Mencken

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
Transmitting on both VOIP and mumble simultaneously has a tendency to create feedback or an echo. If your squadmates are all on mumble, just use that if you want to shout "Grenade".

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
Does mumble have an new version or something? As of today it takes about a minute for me to connect, and although I see all the labels there are no people in the server, at all. And after a few minutes the "remote host has closed connection". I also cannot join any of the labels. Help?

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
That system would work fine for binding keys but like disco said itmight make some echo since mumble has less latency. Also you can't talk behind squad members backs anymore hehe.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
In game VOIP's latency issues causes a delay between receiving VOIP transmissions and mumble transmissions.
For the case of someone being on both mumble and VOIP, chances are they'll hear something like "gre(gre)na(nade)de" which is more than likely to cause a reaction akin to "Wait, wtf?" rather than "Oh shi- get down."
Using the ingame commo rose for things like grenade can be useful, because honestly if there's a grenade incoming they'll not have much time to react anyway. Or just tell the most relevant people: If your squad is leading the attack, do it over VOIP, or if blues are near the grenade transmit over mumble if a blue is walking into the area/building.

Re: The purpose of mumble !!! & communication
luckily CoDMW2 has grenade indicators... lol
I find that using TS or Mumble during firefights has better outcomes. It's not significant time but still helps. Especially when halting a car for mines up ahead.csxgamerz
