Re: Mumble voip!
New snapshot of PR has been released, fixing the 0% bug.

For those who already have mumble, just uninstall your current one (DO NOT CHECK PREFERENCES) and install the newer snapshot and voila!

Re: Mumble voip!
Alright, I've spoken with Apophis about this and he's willing to give it a shot. He's busy until next weekend, so just hang in there and TG will have a Mumble server up and running in a little over a week.

Re: Mumble voip!
The only problem I can see now is maybe having to enforce a dead men dont talk rule.

Re: Mumble voip!
I've encountered a troubling increase in BSOD and CTD with mumble running. It's not frequent, but it's much more common for me now than it was before I started running mumble. Mumble and the Frogfoot don't seem to play well some times.
Also Jeepo we use TS because some of us like to have bandwidth and system resources left to play games
BF3 is a good game, and when they finish it, it may even be a great game.

Re: Mumble voip!
I was walking on Mestia towards the action when I heard these moans and groans from a certain direction. When I found out the direction I found a wounded squad member. Awesome!
Mumble makes infantry so much better to play. IMO we should keep the VOIP broken at the server to encourage everybody to use it

Re: Mumble voip!
If this works out, in the future, is it possible to replace TS with mumble? When you use the "force center" function (bind a key to it) it works exactly like TS. Just a suggestion. It's just too much having this many voip channels; 1 ch TS, 2 ch mumble and 2 ch in-game voip (co and squad).

Re: Mumble voip!
Distance 100m is way too much - I has been confused by too many ppl talking at the same time

Re: Mumble voip!
I just played a quick round of PR with Nerdy. We were using Mumble as well as about 15-20 other people. Friendlies and Enemies were in the same channel. I did not experience voice spam *except when someone is talking when they are out of the game (Mumble acts as TS in that situation). It added a bit more immersive (sp?) gameplay. We tracked an enemy squad just by using the Mumble software. We kept Mumble silent and used hand signals (also known as in-game squad chat) to communicate as we were closing in on their position. I am a convert and will use Mumble in PR a lot.
I've changed my Distance to 50m. A bit more realistic.

I'm Back.

Re: Mumble voip!
I was playing with a few guys last night that said they were using mumble. My question: is there a dedicated mumble server for TG already or a temporary one that someone set up?

Re: Mumble voip!
Can the range of mumble be set ? I think it should work only in a range of 100m or so, so squadleaders can link up and discuss tactics or talk to the armor guy. With a range too big you might get the spam you get on TS if everybody tries to talk. If mumble has a radio button as well to talk to everyone so it can replace TS it would be sheer awesome.
