Learn to play PR- TG style
Due to the rise of new faces ( to TG and PR ) and some complaints about their style of play, whether it be not knowing what to do, maybe still having a vanilla attitude towards players, or just seeking a little help on improving, I thought an idea of a Tactical Gamer-Project Reality mentor guide to help players understand the PR mechanics, tactics, assets and just how general good gameplay should be conducted on the server.
The mentors will simply take a few prodigees under their wings, squad up with them regulary, and advise them on Project Reality as a whole, which will include items such as when to attack and defend, Rock paper scissors Kashan style, effective use of special kits, how to shoot with deviation in mind etc etc.
Good behaviour would be expected by both parties, as well as being patient and understanding. This project is aimed at many of the new people to Project Reality and Tacitcal Gamer, with the mentors being server regulars who know their bayonet from banhammer.
At this point, this is just a simple thread to see who would be interested in either being a teacher or a student, but if interest is generated, I will see about finalizing this into a progessive learning communitee, with the aim of improving general gameplay on the server.
Apart from the regular "Learn TG" squads for public, my aim was to provide 1 to 1 mentoring. So if you want to be mentored or be a mentor, just send me this PM, and I'll be like a match maker ( Cilla Black) to try and get you sorted out. Just copy and paste the form, with your details included, and PM them to Gunner:

Those seemed to have either died or become more 2142 Orientated. Both Dirtboy and Imnotacanadian seem to be inactive.

Re: Learn to play PR- TG style
A PR themed mentorship program is definitely needed. When new people join the TG PR community, I seriously doubt that they bother searching the wiki or reading old news posts. We need something that's friendly, accessible, and current. Once we polish this idea, I think it would make a great sticky. And I'd be happy to serve as a mentor.

Re: Learn to play PR- TG style
I am currently in the process of creating my own mini-me...god help us all. I'd be happy to help coach some newbies on a private server, I just don't know if any of the players that truly NEED the help will ask for it. They are too busy TK'ing and wasting assets.
I still want to have a mentor challenge. Give me 7 days with a noob and I bet my noob will beat your noob.

I'd be interested, and I'm sure a few of my clanmates would too.

Re: Learn to play PR- TG style
Well count me in as one of the noobs I guess...... I'm getting better at supporting my squads and at times when I HAVE to be a SL, supporting the commander, but I've been in excellent TG squads which just work DANG WELL.
So yeah. I need a Master Splinter to my Michelangelo.

Re: Learn to play PR- TG style
This would be extremely helpful especially with the trend that many people have noticed.
However, I would prefer a more stringent scheme to helping to improve the current state of gameplay on the server. Just like the SM- kick script there should be a script that kicks people who haven't joined |TG| forums and/or perhaps read a sticky with the list of rules. This may initially reduce the number of players on the server but in the long run would ultimately lead to less troubles for everyone. The logic being that only players who have join and read the rules for the server would reduce the number of people who join the server not understanding how they are expected to play PR in the way it is envisioned by the |TG| community and thus would help reduce the number of reports/complaints/general asshatery that currently has been on the rise. In the end everyone would profit.
Again a more hardline view but still something that may be of merit to consider if the situation spirals downwards any further.
