or the current US deployment in the Middle East? Is the US occupying a full country?

I hear what you are saying tarthkin.

But in regards to the PW of the server for insurgent maps, thats why the tourney is being held, so others can see how much teamwork goes into any type of map, let alone an insurgency based map.

No matter if you are on the Blufor or insurgent side, the teamwork and communication aspect is so key, i will say it was so nice to see this past sunday that there were no really dumb accidental teamkills, there might have been one or 2 in particular, but there were no rampant driving over friendly mines or tripping grenade traps or hummvws driving over friendlies etc.

    I hear ya though tarthkin.

The scrim game was great, but on regular days, I don't like them very much.
I agree. Convoys in insurgent maps are the best thing to ever happen in PR. But when the squads are not working together as a whole team, it's not that great.

    Re: Insurgent maps

I voted team switch to insurgents. I am sorry but I just love planting ieds in the same spot all the time. Especially on maps like Fallujah west where there is that one main road going out of the base. Blow up one car and then placing an ied under the wreck of that car waiting for your next victim trying to swerve and then getting blown up is just too much fun.

Also the Taliban maps are fun too, especially when a cache spawns in a cave and two opposing squads decide to duke it out. Those are some pretty intense firefights right there.

Though i will say the over kill of insurgents running and tripping grenade traps has decreased A TON.............which is very nice, now if we could only get players to stop setting grenade traps next to caches......

**I also have reached a personal goal of going 2+weeks of not destroying a friendly cache by accident......**

    Re: Insurgent maps

Insurgent maps are completely unfair for the insurgents. The insurgents have to divide their forces otherwise one cache gets left un-defended. The bluefor can convoy up and apply the entirety of it's forces to one half of the enemy's forces. This and the fact that if you pick the wrong cache to defend as an insurgent can be incredibly boring.

convoys dnt always work tropdars, i've seen matches were insurgents loose maybe 2 or 3 caches before the round is over.

GAH! i hope they die forever. I hate them. Taliban are slightly better, but still terrible. I dont mind the fighting as US, but walking round with no one to shoot for 30min after only to discover its a gliched chache has to be the least pleasnt experiance ive had on PR.

I'm not saying that it's fool-proof, just that the bluefor has a built-in advantage. Mainly though the biggest problem is the boredom for the insurgents sitting on a cache that never gets attacked. There should only be one cache revealed at a time.

    Re: Insurgent maps

If that were the case then everyone would crowd around that one cache, making it impossible to get at due to sheer numbers, then the blufor side would just artillery the area, killing the cache and the entire opfor team, losing next to no tickets for it.

awwwwwwwwwwwwww, they have to split up? and they have to defend? Shame on those Coalition forces making the insurgent forces in Project Reality play defensive, defense is so overrated i don't know why anyone would want to defend in PR, it doesn't win games and it doesn't allow players to go on massive killing sprees. Shame on them.....

Somewhere In The City, A Small Violin Is Playing For You.

Sorry to come off rash.....but the coalition forces only know about the dark purple/dark blue Diamonds unless they stumble upon a hidden cache. The purple flags that also have a limited spawn are the ones that are not known to the Project Reality Coalition Forces at that time. Defense is an essential and overlooked part of the game, it is part of strategy and playing tactically. - This is my personal opinion I am just one player on the Project Reality Battlefield, one member of a team which includes 31 other players (63 if you include everyone on the server), and Tactical Gamer.

    Re: Insurgent maps

I like insurgent maps seperated by a few AAS maps because they always make new tactics and usually require more teamwork. Some insurgent maps I just hate to be a certain side but most of the time I just stick it out.

    Re: Insurgent maps

I like insurgent maps, its a nice change from the normal AAS maps. Sure it gets annoying every now and then but when you're in a convoy and you get ambushed by a bomb car, ieds, rpgs, molotovs, and pkms its pretty fun. Also its awesome to see a good ambush as an insurgent.

Does Arty ied have a bigger blast radius to it or maybe it kills a tank in 1 go

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.
