Remember when Vista was released and everyone was pissed because no video drivers were yet available? All that time that could have been spent testing drivers was wasted and it earned a big black eye for nVidia.
I'm nearly certian that the beta is going to be completely different from the release you are speaking of. Yeah, they could get punkbuster working for the beta... but that doesn't mean it will work for the final release. The fact remains that W7 isn't finished yet, so nobody has anyway to test on it... only the beta... in which everything about it is subject to change.

Did he offer to sell you a bridge when he made that claim?

If it's not being tested, and it's failing on the beta, then it's not gonna be ready. When was the last time you used a piece of 1.0 software that worked on the first try, with no patches and no beta testing?

I am sure when Evenbalance knows for sure the retail release date they will kick it into high gear to get PB working correctly, they may even start with RC1 but no one can expect them to work with a beta that is only on it's first public release. People are just expecting way to much all the time from these companies to deliver as soon as any mention is made about a beta release. I sometimes think beta's should never even be publicly released.

Windows 7 IMO is going to definitely be a great OS when it goes retail from what I have seen out of the beta and I am sure Evenbalance will have things working as well.
+1. I also have window 7 on my laptop as my main OS and i love it! There are some bugs that occur, like the system restore not working, but other than that. I just installed build 7077 too, ill report in here if i experience any problems but so far its smooth sailing.

Well, if PB has problems with a "stable" OS (Vista) Than it will need a complete over haul to work on a slightly modified beta version of that stable one. (windows 7 Beta)

I agree that it's just a beta and we shouldn't expect much, but I've been looking on alot of sites about this punkbuster problem. There seems to be a common thread among everyone assuming that it takes 1000 programmers and 10 rocket scientists for evenbalance to get pb to work with win 7! So why should poor evenbalance even try.

In all honesty they could probably get it to work with win 7 without much trouble at all, they just don't want to.
