Wow...it's like re-living the days of EverQuest!

    Battlefield 2 v1.5 Beta Patch 1

Uploaded by: Subscriber Rob+ (about 2 hours ago)

    v1.50

    - Various changes made to prevent cheating.
    - Added checks to prevent “runway grieving”
    - Added Highway Tampa to the default build to make it a compulsory update.
    - Added the new map Operation Blue Pearl.
    - Special thanks to Blackbird at the TV2 community www.battle.no

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.

^^yah the devs have said that any patch will most likely break PR in the near future but that they will work to get a fix as soon as possible. In the meantime stick with the old 1.41 guys cause a working PR is way more important than a patched BF2v...

Correction: DICE, the makers of everything Battlefield, made a beta patch for a very small portion of the Battlefield 2 player base to use. They didn't see a need to lobby EA for a large number of servers for the relatively unimportant patch, so they used local DICE servers, located in Sweden. EA linked to these servers. Being a very large company, rapid changes to unimportant conveniences such as beta-patch download mirrors are nonexistent.

It burns when people blame EA for their every single damn thing. Game development, testing, and updating resides in the original company that EA owns. It is like blaming Mikael Kalashnikov for the combat deaths of US servicemen.

You can't blame people for blaming EA, they 've screwed up enough in the past . But I guess you 're right, people like to bash them whenever they can, even when they have nothing to do with it.

I 'm gonna skip this beta since I don't see anything useful in the fix list.

For those that have tried it, can you confirm there is widescreen options in the settings menu?

    Prone spammers beware:
    • Added Battlefield 2142 style prone deviation - Fixed (going prone will now cause reduced accuracy for a brief period the same system BF2142 uses)

    Re: BF2 1.50 Patch News

I am anxious to see if we will finally get true widescreen support. Running 2560 x 1600 resolution atm, widescreen fixer does help but it's not the greatest when driving vehicles etc, seems to bug out for me.

I usually just turn it off

    Anyone have updates for widescreen?

It 's been stated in the fix list of the first 1.50 beta that widescreen will be supported. I 've read in one of the bug reports from that beta that there were issues with the FOV not being 100% correct and that they would look into to it for 1.50 beta 2.
