Fighter and Machine, please post in a more appropriate place next time. LeadMagnet, on the other hand, can spam this thread as much as he wants since every one of his posts is a dev quote.

Following the video proposal we did a few months back we received a stack of feedback from the community on the type of handheld weapons the faction really should be using.

The feedback was basically that we should be focussing more on the M4 and AK47 based weapons systems. That they are the most widely used and available weapons for PSC's around the world.

So we have taken that advice, applied it to our factions' philosophy of having short barrelled, highly portable, non-scoped weapons. We also thought about what kind of weapon modifications a civilian PSC could / would have for their weapons.

You will find what we have come up with below.

We hope to bring you another up shortly but in the meantime enjoy the handhelds.

Note: All weapons are currently in game and are up to 0.86 standards except for the clasp knife.

If you have ever wanted to not only be part of the PR team, but to also play a large role within the community, then now is your chance.

We have got a large range of positions available, and all we need now is some crazy people who don't mind doing a job for free!

    Map Auditors

    Outline:
Mapping auditors work with management to create interesting map packs that the community wants, not what they "think" the community wants. you will also have to work with admins to develop scenario nights, and create some ideas. Most of what you will do will require simple .GPO edits, however, certain tasks may require changing lighting and other aspects of maps. (to learn how to audit a map, simply click here.)

    Requirements:
Ability to edit gameplayobjects files (.GPO edits)
Fairly good at using the editor
Pack up maps ready to play.

    2D artists

    Outline:
Although we host a large amount of competitions, we don't really have much to give away as prizes, so this is where you come in. you will make winning sigs/userbars, and also help with building up promo material. You will work with the mapping auditors to assist them in any .dds files they may need editing.

    Requirements:
    Have good Photoshop skills
Ability to take good criticism from team members, and adjust accordingly
Ability to edit and pack .dds files
Texturing skills would be a bonus

    Admins

    Outline:
Your job will be to run the events, and ensure that everything runs smoothly, so people can enjoy the matches. you will have to enforce rules, and work with management/mappers to create ideas for events and how they can be run. You will have to ensure that game play runs smoothly, and from time to time undertake mundane tasks, such as acting a hostage, or the driver of a truck.

    Requirements:
Good knowledge of afterdunes admin server commands
Ability to communicate well with people
Have a good understanding of the mod, and to think up ideas that will make for fun scenarios.
Above all else, maturity and respect from within the community.

    Russian Representative.

    Outline:
The Russian PR community is fairly expansive. Your role here will be to integrate yourself within the Russian communities and to offer them a chance to play on some organised team events. You will work with the Russian community to start up some non-official events, and to help promote them in the PR forums.

    Requirements:
Speak both Russian and English fluently
Be integrated well into a Russian community. A server admin/ moderator/ or even someone who just posts up there a lot!
Ability to work well with people, act in a mature manner, and to communicate very well.

    Brazilian Representative.

    Outline:
The Brazilian community is already well established. There are a variety of events held, and a lot of players supporting them. Your role will be to assist the community by offering R-Com services to them, to ensure they can continue to function in the professional and successful manner that they have started with, and to help promote any events where necessary.

    Requirements:
Speak both Portuguese and English fluently
Be integrated well into a Brazilian community. A server admin/ moderator/ or even someone who just posts up there a lot!
Ability to work well with people, act in a mature manner, and to communicate very well.

If you are at all interested in any of the above roles, then please pm me with your details, maybe give some info about yourself, some of your previous work etc etc.

I'm not after CV's or anything formal, a simple pm will suffice!

please do take into account that the role of the [R-COM] team is changing, and if you are interested, you read up on this thread to get some more information:

These reloads are based off Norwegian AG3 reload drills as kindly demonstrated to me in video from by [R-MOD]KP. The last animation is for the insurgents.

Thanks to KP for the reference videos, I mean.. what kind of super bad-ass unit has a wolf on their insignia?

The commander can enable this UAV from his command post and guide it like you would guide the vBF2 TV guided missiles from attack choppers. But of course they fly a lot slower and can only go left and right (not up and down) staying at a fixed height

Right now we have it as a 10 min fly over, and after that you have to wait another 10 min for it to "refuel".

Before anybody asks, NO, we can't make it lase anything or shoot anything. His job will be just recon. Also we couldn't make it fly in circles around a target, so you will have to fly through the area and come back, and so on.

We are considering having a similar recon vehicle for the chechens, taliban and insurgents, to also encourage commanders in those factions. Like a remote controlled model airplane or something like that. We just need somebody to model it.

    Or perhaps a flying boat

With this change we hope to encourage more players to become commanders and understand their role in helping the team with intel and support.
    Just wow

Since the Commander UAV update we have been thinking of ways to give the Insurgent and Taliban commanders something extra to help improve their role. From some comments in that thread this idea came up.

First, the Insurgent and Taliban commanders will be able to access their command map from any hideout in the map, in addition to their "command post" safe hideout. Since both faction's squad leader kits have shovels, they can even deploy the hideouts themselves. This will give the commander some mobility, but it's up to him to decide if it's a good tactic.

Then, not feeling this was enough to encourage more players to become commanders for these factions in comparison to the conventional forces, we created this "Informants" system.

The Insurgent and Taliban commander is already able to place up to seven waypoints on his map, positions he thinks are important for his team. The moment six or more enemy troops pass around that location, a contact report will be sent just for the commander relaying where the enemy was last seen.

This report right now takes from 30 to 60 seconds to reach the commander and he is responsible in keeping track and passing that information to the squad leaders that need it. Also, marking new waypoints make new reports take 5 minutes to start being sent to the commander after it was placed. Think of it as the informant moving to a new location.

We think this feature will add a new, somewhat realistic, layer of intel gathering to the Insurgent and Taliban teams, making the commander an even better bonus for his team.

    Re: The [DEV] Dump

It will have an increased settle time much like the existing AR's and once settled it will then be "BOOM, HEADSHOT!" time... There are a few other new factors but I'll save those for a surprise...
