    Commander Rant

Being Commander can be one of the most boring unappreciated roles in PR. Having a good one can bring the game to higher levels of fun and excitement. Having a bad one is the most frustrating thing in PR. With all that said my adage is, "If you don't like what the commander is telling you to do then go Commander before the bad ones do".

In my books Commander "should" be one of the roles that are taken first not last like it is now. I hate hearing people tell others that are late joining, that if they can not find a squad to join then go Commander.

Things I like to see when I'm commander.

    1. Lots of Intel with details. That includes spotting enemy and telling me when enemy are taken out
    2. SLs telling me where they are going and why
    3. Your opinion. You have a better idea then the commander in most circumstances.
    4. If you do not like my orders tell me and why. I'll rethink my orders. If you ignore orders get ready to be reported. (Yes, I have reported DEVs before because I don't care who you are)

Remember having a Commander is like being married, communication goes along way. If you do something I don't like and we did not talk about it before hand, then get ready to sleep on the couch.

I'll be commanding much more from now on. I'll give everyone else a chance to grab it before I do, in case you think I'm a bad commander

Gotta agree, one of the most important things is the intel, a sniper squad giving just intel is one of the best things you can have. its all about the intel and then focussing the attacks.

I disagree with the sniper squad. I can do even better intel with nothing more than a rifleman specialist kit :P

    > having a commander is like being married

the thoughts... they will haunt me...

Seriously though, PR still has a commander role? WHY WASN'T I INFORMED OF THIS?

If in fact the commander still exists, then this post should be required reading for everyone playing TG. I took notes.

    facilitate vs command

Simple thing a co can do is transfer attack markers between units.

This would be invaluable intel to air units and ground units could really use reliable destruction via air support. Quite often the air units try to find their own targets which is far less effective and more risky.

Even on an infantry map, having one squad hold a position but call in an attack from a flank on the enemy should effect a great advantage vs plain confrontation

If you find yourself in a fair fight, then you have obviously failed to plan properly.

    lol agreed.

I'd go commander except I just, without a doubt, have got to kill a guy.

We need to go and recruit (sorry, kidnap) people from some RTS culture, and slowly introduce them to PR.
    ? is around the corner.
    ? did that come from.
    ? killed me.
? Who, What, Where. All the time.
    The Question Mark.
