The problem with the White List idea is that someone has to manage that. Guess who that will be? Yep, your friendly admins. Guess what those guys would rather be doing during password nights? Yeah, you got it - playing. Guess what we don't really want to do? Monitor the player list every 5 seconds and compare it against a list of approved players.
    I should clarify my idea:

A restricted night would be announced on the forums.
Players would sign up on the forums if not already there.
Players would sign up for the white list by an automated system (no admin involvement) 'signing' that they have read and abide by the rules, Natural Selection at TG had this process for regulars. Otherwise players would have to pm or otherwise give their playerID or hash number to someone to add to the list.
On game night only the people who had already been placed on the white list would have access to play, a server side script would deny other players.
The white list would be stored for future restricted nights, any banned that night should be banned for months.

The only way people could bug admins would be to hop on TS and ask to be added at the last minute. Possible solution: passwording the TS channels for PR for the night so the admins aren't bugged.

The hard part would be the server side script to enforce the white list.

    ****
When it is said that tagged players are punished more harshly than regular players I believe it is true but I see people warned during the game for basic infraction while wearing the tag. Are they getting banned at a later point that I'm just not seeing? Do I need to get screen shots for them to be completely banned?

I do mean this thread to be directed at the TG tagged players that are acting up, not the admins who are visibly responsive in game. Thank you all for quickly kicking the players that don't follow orders, TK and do other stupid stuff and are reported in game. I don't want to come of as overstepping the admins, so should I continue to hold off on pming the ones that behave bad without directly breaking a rule or should I just go ahead and pm them saying that their hogging of assets is a bad reflection on TG?
Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

Why are you even here if that's your attitude?

Wearing the TG tag is not something that should be taken lightly. Tactical Gamer is about a mature gaming enviroment. If you want to play on the server untagged, then that's a differant story. You are held to the standards of the server, but not up to those that wear TG in their name.

I don't say much, but this is something I agree with. If you're going to wear the tags, then read the primer, read the rules, and act like an adult. It's not a complicated concept in theory, but appears to be one in practicality with some people.

At the end of the day it's our fualts as admins if the level of gameplay on the server is not up to par. We have been instructed to not punish players for poor tatics. If a player is waisting assets, crashing choppers, loosing tanks, rushing their squad into mg postions it's our faults as admins a for not indivdualy teaching these players better tatics. Though these indivduals are hurting the 30 other players on the team it is not fair to punish those who don't know better.

Continue to PM us trouble makers. I will try to take the time to personaly explain to them what they are doing wrong and how they can bece better.

I don't wear the TG tag because I don't have to wear it to be a example for a good squad member or tactical player. Who said the tag is some god holy symbol that entitles you to grateness? Even the primer states that if you wear the tag it doesn't mean:

    you are a skilled player.
    you have any special benefits.

Problem on the server is that pubies think of TG players as some kinda gods amongst them. And when I started, I came to that thought as well and would jump on the chance to just join one darn TG squad. Such thought from pubbies and players makes those with TG tags think they are really something, it gets over their heads.

I would want to show good tactics, teach people something, but I can't by god lead a squad that well, I'm seriously crap at it as I experienced a couple of times. I want to join the irregs and start learning some stuff properly and actually be able to teach people something.
Foxwolves or folves for short are very versatile. Sniper, engineer, soldier, strategist, medic, commando.
    All in one package.

Nobody said that it was. The thread is about how people who wear the thread are showing their dedication to the community and should be held to a higher standard than non-tagged members.

I'm coming in the server and this thread has been inspiring. Don't let me catch you acting up. I don't care if your the President himself, heck I don't care if it's me. Gotta keep my behavior in check. Don't say you werent warned. I support everyone here 100% except for Mushroom. Mushroom don't post with that kind of attitude, that's what really starts people's blood pressure to go sky high. I don't care if I have stay up all night watching BFR files, done it b4, Ill do it again.

Wearing the TG tag doesn't have anything to do with skill - many of us IHS members often comment that we couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at five paces. It is a commitment to following the rules, standards and ideals that the Tactical Gamer community is governed by, including fair play, teamwork, and respect. *Anyone* not adhering to these precepts shall be instructed, warned, kicked and/or banned - especially TG-tagged members, who should know better as this is the condition of wearing said tags.

I agree. I myself have done some pretty bad things, and yet have never recieved a ban, not that that's anything to be proud of. It's time to bring out the heavy artillery.

Yeah, password nights are great, gonna see if there is one today.

    And about my last post:

I know ye are enforcing the rules and are aware of this problem, though there will always be black sheep. We shouldn't be hard for minor infractions the TG player did, especialy if he himself is aware of his mistake.
Harder infractions and tagged players acting like the Sheriff of Nothingham are something that should be reported.

I myself will strive to use the report function more and as well report infractions on teamspeak. I don't know how to record videos yet, do you use X-fire for that?
