I dont think its kills.

Six consecutive dolphin dive knife attacks in a row, obvoiusly.
Seriously - I agree, pure experience & server time. That doesn't necessarily mean that one squad with experienced players will be the best one. There are many inter-squad mechanics that make a strong unit.

Re: What is Skill?
I think skill mainly has to do with experience, but there all some point and click elements involved too. You can be as tactical as you like, but it's not going to count for crap if you can't put rounds on target.

Re: What is Skill?
skill and experience are different things. they arent interchangeable. Just because i know the maps and know my role as certain kits doesnt mean i have any skill. it just means i have a memory that works fairly well. skill is in killing. and in operating vehicles. the most important part of PR to me is shooting people. it doesnt take any skill to set a firebase or build one, or go to a good ambush spot on a map that you have memorized. if you go to that ambush spot and wreck some **** up like a pro then youd be exhibiting skill.

Re: What is Skill?
As for blank.. yes.. thats usually next to my score..
Numbers in the Millions?? Never seen that...
Tell you what, lets do an experiment.. when you see me on the server ask me in TS how many kills I have and we will compare the numbers.. I will do the same for you..
Ok just had a look, Duh, your right, there are a bunch of people with deaths, but nobody has and in the SKILL column.. now you really have me wondering..

Re: What is Skill?
It is intriguing Pancho.
I did a very quick Google on it and came up with nothing more than 4 yr old threads discussing some guy's formula for skill. Nothing seemed to pertain to this skill rating tho.Tactical Gamer Content Development Manager

Re: What is Skill?
A well trained squad is a skilled squad, a skilled squad is a squad that knows how to use suppresive fire effectively, understands how to use their specific roles, and sticks together.
In a game such as PR its not about how skillful 1 player is, This is not counter strike with each man for himself, but about a squad knowing how to react, and what to do in any given circumstance.PR ingame name - |TG-Irr| SilverJohn

Re: What is Skill?
Skill in PR is the ability to follow order if in a squad and to give them as SL with a knowledge of the terrain, the enemy and the ability of your squad and team. Knowing where to be and what the TEAM needs is the best thing for attaining "skill".
You don't need to be a killer (lord knows I am not) to do well in PR. Staying together and having 1 plan that the SL or commander acts on is key to victory. PR is about teamwork and supporting your friends on the battlefield, nothing more. Killing is something you do when the opportunity presents itself.
Support your SL to the bitter end and never give up - that is all it takes.

Re: What is Skill?
Know and fullfill your choosen role as CO, SL or SM - follow chain of command and the rest is simple "concentration"

Skill is the ability for me to call out "Wickens go kill them, gotta catch em all!".

Re: What is Skill?
Couldn't disagree more to be honest. Skill can be twitch but it is also anticipation and insight. It can also be the application of experience and knowledge in the right circumstances at the right time. It does take 'skill' to set a firebase or rp, if you want it to stay up. You use your knowledge, insight and experience to place it in a location that is defendable and hopefully, unlikely to be anticipated by your opponent.
Killing infantry isn't just point and click, it is anticipating direction of movement, analysing the intel in front of you to locate their point of origin, determining how to flank, when to initiate contact, when to move and reinitiate or break contact etc.
It takes 'skill' to use your knowledge and experience effectively imo.TG PR Admins: Fighting for YOU on the frontlines in the War on Stupidity.

Re: What is Skill?
Skill:
1. the ability, coming from one's knowledge, practice, aptitude, etc., to do something well: Carpentry was one of his many skills.
2. competent excellence in performance; expertness; dexterity: The dancers performed with skill.
3. a craft, trade, or job requiring manual dexterity or special training in which a person has competence and experience: the skill of cabinetmaking.
You asked, I answered. Also knowing how to med your SL properly. Jeez, you wouldn't imagine how many pubbies.....
