I agree with you Charity not to micromanage, and the thought of an A-Team of TG sounds very strong. Nothing better than TG bringing home the Gold. There's also plenty of people to fill in teams. We should prob. start some threads for interest when the time is right. Disco I like your recommendations, be interesting to see what they come back with.

you should shoot that over as a recommendation.

I am thinking like a football manager, just so's you get my gist. I'd happily follow any people mentioned but it is not about this.

I think it dangerous to think of an 'all star' squad based only on peer and group dynamics of pecking orders and incrowds. Many unsung regulars would make the job just as well. Better to leave that kind of thing out; it only stands to cement the 'who knows who' than Community.

In any case, we can field a few squads. Right?

In that case count me in.

It'd be an honor to serve under anyone's squadleading in an event like this.

I think so, the news post does a pretty crap job of explaining it.

    Re: PR Golden Squad Competition

get a TG ALL STAR SQUAD with nominated players and some IHS squads (maybe mixed).

my votes for the TG all star squads would be: Portable.Cougar, A.Lion, Jeepo, Katanama, StealthBanana, Charity_Case, DiscoJedi (1 for backup)

So would this be free for all? Or nominated? Or pick some SLs who then draft willing players from a precompiled list? I would proffer the last option personally, unless the collective thinking was to send one super end all, be all, name taking squad.

If it's not within the next two weeks, I'd be down for it.

It is free for all as long as you have 5 buddies with you in a squad. It probably will not be earlier than 2 weeks.

    Re: PR Golden Squad Competition

Well, I'm willing to help people get organized for this event. As I said before, I'm not interested in micromanaging things, but I'm happy to help interested people find a squad. So I'll create another thread to track squad formation once things are sorted out. But first, I think that we as a community need to decide how we'll be represented at this event.

I see a lot of talk about a TG 'all star' squad. While this is certainly a cool idea, I think TG would be better represented and have a better chance of winning if we fielded a bunch of reasonably strong squads instead of one super squad. I think it's safe to say that TG has some of the most skilled players in all of PR, but we also have a deep community of veteran players. My point is that we don't have to field a squad of our best players because any squad of our vets should be able to top the opposition. I know this sounds cocky, but anyone who has played on other servers knows how much higher the level of play is on TG. And one more thing, even if I was an 'all star,' (and I'm not; I'm not skilled, I'm just consistently lucky) I wouldn't be joining their squad because SamO and I are already forming a squad of our own.

I hope to see a lot of TG participation in this event. To me, the real goal is not to win, but to show the rest of the PR community what TG is all about. Of course, if we can beat the opposition and be tactical, fair, and respectful at the same time, then that's even better .
