Re: Road Trip
My grandparents live just south of Chat. across the GA. border, and I take them up to the Aquarium all the time. Have also been to Chickamauga a bunch, but when I was little and not in the last 15 years or so.
One of the times I went to Chat. we shopped in a restored Cotton Mill or something. Had tons of modern stores and was really cool. Maybe some of you locals know the real name so others can check it out.
Will also say that some of the funniest episodes of COPS are from Chat. A few good taser ones

Re: Road Trip
Indeed. I wonder whose idea that was.

Gettysburg is well marked and all, and there's a nice little museum, should you ever chance by there on a future trip. Lotsa monuments and things, and you can see how much fun they didn't have fighting in some of those spots there.
...Of course, you'd be much better off coming up here to Maine, where it's cooler, and we have nice mountains and forests, and no crowds to speak of.
And no IEDs in the middle of the road here either.

Re: Road Trip
If anyone is planning a trip to Europe, I have some great experience with the Ardennes and Market Garden (with books and maps) if anyone ever does that. Also went to the D-Day landings a few years back.
Some great battlefields in Europe to see.

Re: Road Trip
Ardennes are cool, also where I live near the beach in the Netherlands you still have the concrete bunkers the Germans build during the war.
Normandy in France is also cool to visit. During WWI they dropped so many grenades with mUstardgas you still cannot enter some areas....which now I think about is kinda f'ed. Also WWII bunkers and battle stories there.
