Ya I listen to music when flying Helo's in training mode never really tried it in a regular server, because like some other people said, it takes away from your situational awareness. But there's nothing like lifting off from a helicopter as an epic guitar solo, or awesome intro is going on

i used to hear The Offspring - Americana - back and forth when playing Firearms (old HL1 mod)

but for PR i just find it disrespectful/impolite/rude if i am not paying attention and getting the squad into trouble because i did not hear that that enemy vehicle was approaching or i did not hear the footsteps of the enemy around the corner that i am supposed to cover or i simply did not hear what the SL ordered me to do!

-> no music!

No music in PR, but with most other games it's open season. I love music in Mount & Blade and X-Plane, and Audiosurf is one of my downright favorite games, too.

yeah, when I played C.S. I would always listen to some electronic music...there was this one awesome song called "one shot"..I would time my awp shot to the song..."one shot..BANG..is all i need" ..good stuff.Paul Gilbert is strictly for practicing my riffs to (amazing pentatonics).
Now in PR, its kinda hard to listen to music with all the chatter going on, otherwise Windham Hell would be cool...Alpinia everytime.

I don't listen to music while playing, because i want to be able to hear my team mates on mumble/voip/teamspeak. And of course enemy footsteps and vehicles.

Whatever is playing on my pod.. so:
Alexisonfire, Arctic Monkeys, Bloc Party, Chevelle, Coldplay, Dethklok, Eminem, Enter Shikari, Flight of the Conchords, Franz Ferdinand, Green Day, John Butler Trio, Jon Lajoie, The Killers, Killswitch Engage, Lamb of God, Linkin Park, Machine Head, Mastodon, Maximum the Hormone, Megadeth, Metallica, MGMT, The Offspring, Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Rise Against, Scars on Broadway, Serj Tankian, Slater, Slipknot, Stars, Sumbersed, SOAD, Trivium, Underoath, or We Are Scientists.

On shuffle, of course.

It all plays on background, and on a third party system, so my headset doesnt get direct interference, and if need be, I can turn the volume up or down. iPod docks are the best.
