Re: Quick Mumble Poll
The old Mumble caused me to get the blue screen of death, however this version doesn't have that to occur, nardini, i too was skeptical when i DL this version and the old version Icon was on my desktop, have no fear though that its just an icon and the integration is smooth as can be.

Yes
Helps inter-squad coordination as well as minimize comms when running several vehicles in the same squad.
The only problem I have with the new Mumble is that it has trouble linking to my BF2 and is troublesome for pilots who still sometimes hear everyone who is talking on the ground.

Re: Quick Mumble Poll
The only thing is, for you folks who say it's too complicated:
The PRMumble is preconfigured, you don't have to do a thing.
It's very simple. Set your voip keys to:
VBNM
Teamspeak-Squad-Mumble-Commander
Works great

-The ability to communicate directly between squads in close contact is awesome, and saves much of the chatter that clutters TS at times.

-Green - Blue comms is the best reason... Once I setup volume keybinds for it (and TS), I havent had any negative issue with using both at same time.|TG-31st|Slayer816

No
I tried it earlier, didn't work well. Tried the new PR version but didn't have many people using it that particular moment and haven't bothered. Still doing fine with TS and as of now think of it as an alternate and too much to monitor overall. I love the idea though and once it becomes more universally accepted will probably get to it.

Re: Quick Mumble Poll
I would be using it, but I have a problem that prevents me from transmitting. (In teamspeak too) If and when I get it working properly, I'll use it all the time.

Re: Quick Mumble Poll
Usually start with on, but I turn it off when people in mumble start talking over people in TS.

Re: Quick Mumble Poll

Mumble, when properly used without spamming, is the perfect addittion to the BF2 voip which even makes TS useless if the SLs and CAS sqds are in the proper channels.
Communication between squads becomes much quicker and talking of quicker: mumble's latency is much much much better then the TS or BF2 voip one, so I always prefer mumble when I have to tell my SL that there is an enemy veery close aiming at us. This one second of delay can "save" his life.

Yes
This is how it is done in RL and how it should be done when possible. To much chatter in TS to many people talking about stuff that does not matter or not needed to come over TS.

Re: Quick Mumble Poll
You have probebly been in the public channel while playing, that channel is made for chatter

In the cord channels its almost always relevant chatter, if they are talking about stuff that does not belong in the channel, just tell them to stop and I promise you, they will stop.Last edited by AlmightyLion; 07-16-2009 at 01:42 AM.
