Personally, I'd rather not have to take the time to do so every time I play because people still think the novelty of being able to talk to the whole team is cool and abuse it. As stated, in a scrim environment where stepping out of line meant a reaming and other consequences, it might be fine. But for everyday play, its just too much hassle.
Ferris I suggest then using the general channel, the general channel is basically the equivalent to the TS Coordination Channel, the Squad Leader Channel is the equivalent to the TS Leadership channel.

Since I have started using mumble I haven't experienced any spam, if someone is loading in and talks, I say what team it is, and if they can be quiet until they are in game, it works.

I understand if you don't like running Mumble + Teamspeak + whateverelseyoucouldpossiblyfind,DL,anduse but from a strict gameplay and teamwork contribution standpoint it is like no other.
Great post, and this also coming from a player who reads the Twilight books in between the loading of maps.

Marine I know you got your movie tickets early for new moon.

    - Yes

    - I used mumble, when it was first mentioned on the Project Reality forums, and then I used it for the reason that I was able to individually contact others outside of my squad without having to type or anything like that. So all in all, it obviously enhances team communication, which is why I've re-loaded it and plus I've been asked to download it by friends on the TG server.

    - YES

    - I learned of mumble one day on the server, started using it and have never looked back to Vent or TS.
