You mean they don't already? (It might be because there are so few commanders that I don't see this issue come up) You can always ask, and if it's ignoring commander orders, that's reportable. So is wasting assets, which sounds like a fair majority of unauthorized flight ops that go down. (Flying straight down the gullet of a Gaskin in a Blackhawk for example, gleefully unaware of impending death from not-paying-attention-to-anything syndrome)

    Short answer: Yes!
Longer answer: If they lose one or two choppers, report them (I feel strangely compelled to add, I would want to be reported if I behaved like a smacktard, at the very least someone TELL me I'm being stupid) for wasting assets.
BF3 is a good game, and when they finish it, it may even be a great game.

    Yes Yes Yes

This is one of the reasons i do not often play commander anymore, cause i want to command and not to deal with the kindergarden. (and i want to have fun and not be shamed as idiot as commander, or called idiot cause i command not in vanilla mode (amd yes i have enough stories when such things happened, mainly with public players))

Flying stupid isn't wasting assets any more than driving a tank repeatedly straight to the enemy, running infantry into the enemy repeatedly or anything like that. Just because it flies doesn't make it special.

Crashing during takeoff twice you could report since it is hard to tell if they are stupid or doing it on purpose to waste assets, but that would up to the admin to decide.
Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

From my perspective, I have a really hard time with people reporting others for wasting assets on a crash or two. It seems petty, and in my opinion it makes the entire TG community look bad. If someone is refusing to help the team or out trying to fly stunts with their helicopter instead of flying missions then by all means, report them. However, if it is simply a crash or two then please don't waste the admin's time.

I was asking Tman just few days back but he got divided opinions.
My question is, if I'm called on a mission (drop some infantry in battlezone), I'm allowed to fly my way ? Which means I do fly upside down sometimes because when you get back in natural position with huey you loose speed much faster-cleaner landing. And its cool as well, and honestly I like having fun in a video game. I've never crashed during such an operation. And yea I know it might be considered screwing around, but the route is the same, speed is the same, saftey is the same...

Yep. You gotta give people some slack and time to shape up their game if you are the CO. I usually ask politely first, then a bit firmer after a while, finally again after some time i threaten to report them. If you get some dialogue going and explain your intentions (both parties), you can usually agree and solve the problem together. And we don't need waste disposable or other admins time.

Although it might be effective, flying a helo upside down is not realistic and is pretty much the one thing I think I would report a pilot for not using their vehicle in a realistic manner.
Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

Also make the kit only requestable from the helo itself? Or make a different pilot kit for the different kind of air assets.

The problem is getting a CO every round, and specially getting a CO that gives air assets this kind of treatment...

I'm just hoping with the UAV in, we will get COs more often and hopefully the asset hogging/stealing will be less usual too...

    Re: Pilot decorum

Oh I won't either. I'm just saying, it's a complex problem with way too many complex solutions.

PR is based on reality, but it's not radical. You still get arcade elements on it. It's just some suggestions that have been going around are waaaaaaaay too radical, either to follow or even enforce.

I'm just hoping with the Devs so focused on apparently making the Commander a rather fun part to play, we will get COs more often. The first part of making the CO more fun to play is the UAV, which apparently will help teams a lot. And COs more often mean assets being assigned to squads more often. If jets are all assigned to squad 1, and squad 3 takes them, all squad 1 needs to do is report, either they bail out or kick, problem solved. Much easier for us players to report and specially for the admins to evaluate the situation and make a move. "Admin, I'm CO and I asked for the chopper to stay grounded but he took off!!!!!!! Kick plz".

    C'mon, gimme a break...

    True that..

After a ridiculous round on Ejod Desert today I was watching the BFR to find a bunnyhopper and report them and I saw some ridiculous stuff..

So much so that I just gave up recording as I would have to have watched it a dozen times to get good footage of all the morons, none of those people by the way have I ever seen post anything here. It was dismal.

Only if he informs the pilot of everything. I.E. tell him he could be kicked. And give him a decision before allowing him that right. Not everyone on the server comes to forum and reads the rules. I'm not sure if that's the current system, that's what I do.
Don't know what to vote that as, I guess a better idea, Even in it's small change.
