Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
Well, the channels are named "Squad Leaders Radio net (Team 1/2 alternative)" and "Squad Leaders Radio net (Team 1/2)". Common sense would dictate that you use the "Squad Leaders Radio net" channel.

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
But, why are there 2 SQ leader Radio net channels per team? At most, there should only be 9 guys in one SQ leader channel, right?

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
say you got 2 M-inf units. 2 BMPs and 2 6 man Inf Squads. It takes alot of chatter to guide assets on target, disscuss what to do next. Things like that
The second channel was added to allow SLs to talk "freely" with out bothering the main SL channel

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
Crashes cause channels to be mixed. Also, sometimes some weird stuff happens and everybody gets switched to the 'afk' channel in mumble.
Personally, I like to open up both, connect in channel (afk channel for Mumble and public or 69th channel for TS) then after, when I'm in the game, I switch channels by just looking at the player lists and comparing them to the lists in the mumble and TS.
And myself, I don't experience too many people being mixed, only just 1 or 2 players.
I think it's first off the responsibility of the person to be in channel, and then the admin who can change them. Some admins change people accordingly after a crash and server restart. But don't count on that all the time.
And thanks for that Cougar, I just sort of moved with the crowd, didn't know what that channel was for. Thanks for the explanation.|TG-69th|Berlancic2"Speed. Aggression. Surprise."

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
Teamspeak, mumble, dozens of channels omg, if I get mumble running and to squadlead again, Iam going to designate somone as a radioman to talk to other squadleaders and do the forward observer for CAS, but then he doesnt have a soflam, hmm.

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
i vote keep the two SL channels so that us lame people can talk off-topic in our channel, and the cool people can talk off-topic in the other, leaving no room for bad feelings or hypocrisy.
also, we should use xfire VOIP too, that way i can use my second numpad connection for just comms hotkeys.

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
We also need several Ventrillo servers. This is an automatic lame person filter. They have no idea what vent is.

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
A long time ago, in the days of Desert Combat, the ninjaserve guys (I believe thekronic and Packetloss) had written a program that automatically switched you to the right channel based on the team you were on in game. Too bad that couldn't be found, or redone ( I would have no clue how, so not me ).

Re: Are we using Mumble and TS correctly???
As somebody else mentioned, and as has been mentioned before in regards to TS, I usually load into the game server and then switch to the appropriate TS/Mumble channel based on the names in the respective servers.
However, if one team has more mumble players than the other, I will try to switch to that team to utilize mumble. Good, bad or indifferent, I don't see my behavior changing anytime soon, and I don't think I'm alone. I think this is why one side is always "stacked" with mumble players.
If I didn't use or didn't want to use mumble, the point would be moot, but alas, I do like mumble.
