Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
As a lover of good music and good sound I have to say that trailer they made there was surely "made up" to look good (making up game scenes etc) but wow, these sounds really take me to a nice battlefield.
Having to listen to the crappy flashpoint 2 sounds is a pain in the ass... Arma 2 sounds like **** too, even with mods.
The only good thing with good and real sounding sounds is PR.
I dont know how a real gun sounds in real life, but my best friend is in army right now and he says, its loud, its short , its snappy. Like PR's sounds.
In CoD5 it was just the same sound all the time, edited in pitch, lenght and compression/attack.
And of course, fuzzy is right:
I will NOT be motivated to play a game or even make a MOD for it, if it's technology is a step BACKWARDs... We shall get more players, instead of less. We need more landscape, instead of less. etc etc...

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
Thats not entirely correct...
Acctually OP Flashpoint has allmost 100% accuracy when it comes to the real rifle sounds!
Allmost every model in the game was recorded from live firing range, plus i'm an army x and a current reserved, trust me, the M16 allone is 100% accurate.
And not to mention the awsom work they made with the environmenet and effects sounds...i am really impressed.
Bad company 2 has some serious sounds going on, but everything is still open untill march..will see when the finnal deal will be out.

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
Operartion Flashpoint 2 has recorded gun-sounds?
Mh... they sound kinda quiet to me.
Ahh, well, gotta go to the army to find out.
And the minigun sounds like a chain pulled over a stone... ^^ Chaingun!
Not like the miniguns on the youtube videos at all.

Looks like a less messy looking less AI'd Modern Warfare. With building destruction. Nothing special.
I think that if the PR team moves to a different game, there will be a player base lost at the graphic upgrade.|TG-Irr|Sirsolo since 18OCT08.

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
Do you really believe that? That to me is like believing a pre-release screenshot is a good way of estimating how the final product will look
. I bet you'll still get pwned by bunnyhoppers with double shottys, like MW2.
Do you believe your own statement? or was it sarcasm? I'm at a loss
.
Nice recap of why BF2 is still the best MPshooter/engine. When are the other companies going to wake up and see the huge gap in the market I wonder. What it's like to play online games as a grown-up:http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-i...e_gaming/1.jpg

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
No it wasnt sarcasm but I take your point. The players are the most important element, hopefully the game will entertain a wider element then just bunny hopping kills for those looking for it
1943 is out in the new year i think, should this beta not appear though ps3 has a bc2 beta already, Ive never been that keen on a fps with a joypad
Obviously it wont compare to PR but I dont see PR as a commercial game, only a few would pay to take such pain

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
That's like saying vanilla was all about tactics and squads. Something you would read on a box.

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
It did have squads and voip and the foundations for tactics even if it was never needed on a game of karkland, Im just saying I like that the possibility is still there. All hope is not lost though bc doesnt have a proper squad system so it remains to be seen how it could play
Bottom line is I think bf2 was the zenith, I expect these latest revisions of bf including bf3 to be less modable and less tactically adaptable. It just would be nice if they had some remnants at least

Re: Battlefield:BC2 = BF3?
The squad deathmatch mode is going to be so kick ass.

30% off
I was never that keen on deathmatch in games apart from just purely 10 minute games, but several squads vs would be something else
Just posting to mention that the EA store has 30% off for today only.
Another offer that works with EA store is coke zone points. I dont know which countries run this exactly but it can take upto about 15 dollars off the price which would be good combined with the above and it works with pre orders
Also for anyone who lost their bf2 disk or something, Steam is offering all BF2 packs ever released for about 5 dollars, again this is today only
