I know everyone is speaking from personal experience, but I have hardly seen any rallies on the map. What we have done several several times, is to use a RP to join up with the squad when I just entered the game and they are a long way from a firebase. Surely that is what it is there for.

I've also used it as, well, a rally. For example, on Bi Ming, approaching Bi Ming proper, we get hit in an ambush, everyone scatters, a few people are dead. Fall back 100-150m behind a rock, people come to me, set a rally and let the other half of the team spawn back in instead of footslogging it all the way from main, set up a proper assault.

<04:16:25> "|TG-XV| Tralic": this channel is so gay

The main thing that removing the rallies did was make people play more cautiously, since any death without a medic to revive meant a LONG walk. With the rally, that particular mentality gets a really kick to the nads, which is a shame.

Fortunately, the effect isn't THAT huge, since rallies seem to be seeing relatively limited use in most situations. Certainly, my own squad leading barely utilizes them. However, that's probably got to do more with me forgetting about it more than anything.
