Re: Donde El Everyone?
A general decline in players coming was because gameplay was degraded by the awesome EA advertising PR. Go EA! I love you! That means more people, but more smacktards from Vanilla, making the game very difficult to play.
"PR use to be a game where you had to look for that type of gameplay to play it" someone said something similar to that, but the point is the same. Now any Tom or Harry can play it, what's bad about it is that some of them don't really fit with PR;they like quicker, arcade type games.
Also, this probably brought frequent hacker attacks after the release of 0.85. And I mean't every day, a stupid CTD hacker. Again, playing PR wasn't fun and gameplay was degraded.
Apart from that, the server is full most of the day, but take into account many people can't come on on weekdays. And MW2? That's affected nothing of PR, a few people leave, I know GiJoe did. Only a few people though, not a whole community of players. And they come back anyhow. games like MW2 can get boring after constant playing.

Re: Donde El Everyone?
It is quieter but I admit I skip maps I dont like so much which tend to be the more wider open terrain ones also some often crash when they load anyway like kashan and qinling and I dont usually return on those.
Any map can play good but the bigger ones require more effort I think. Anything thats less infantry based is going to kill off the server quicker, I think city insurgency maps are best if the server is not busy
Games like MW2 might be brilliant short term but its candy floss instead of turkey roast, much less depth to it I bet. Speaking of which, Happy thanksgiving to those that celebrate it
Skud might have a point in that there is more 'big' servers with maybe less players on TG at times because of that

Re: Donde El Everyone?
Yeah I also think Skud is right. I had to test my new isp today, and TG was empty. I saw two servers that were close enough to me (one euro one chicago), and it took 10 to 20 min to get a spot and be able to join to my surprise.
If the industry keeps treating pc games like Glenn Beck treats reason, I predict PR can grow for at least three years. There still is NO competitor to PR gameplay, as ArmA is for mostly gunfreaks (not so much tactics in it), and all the other games are just rediculously arcady shooters that have no multiplayer focus, and thus utterly crappy multiplayer.
This is in a way awesome for the Devs of PR. And in a way... I wouldn't mind playing this same game for another few years, provided it continues its steady progression.
It's going to be a long wait before there is another multiplayer focused non-console-port title. Afaik there will be none in 2010, or at least none I've heard of. It's all fine really. It's like playing WOW for free. Good riddance, EA, Dice, infinity ward,.... don't let the door hit you on the way out
