Re: Sniper issue.
ahahahahaha........ the look on his face ahahaha
Seriously Sniper seems to like me when Im poking my head behind a wall but I just hate them, there always this lone sniper in a team not doing his job, his job should be recon and giving intel to his team ........ They are useful spotters In CAS squad, good at giving intels but thats all, just watch Jarheads would understand better

Re: Sniper issue.
Dear Sir Solo,Yesterday while discussing this with my good friend, he said that 95% of people won't know what' they're talking about, and 5% will miss the point even if I stab them in the eye with it. TG usually falls into the 5%.
Watch this video. Turn your speakers up REALLY LOUD.
Nobody but Sir Solo do this!

Re: Sniper issue.
So much fuss about a kit that represent the opposite of teamplay (execpt the binoculars in the kit)
Just face it, nobody cares about the sniper kit here.

Re: Sniper issue.
I do when it is used right.
Last night on Asad Khal we had a squad on a plateau and Logical had a sniper kit nearby. We called in spots on SAW gunners for him and covered his flank while he called out approaching squads, earning a ton of points between our squads and surviving several assaults due to shared intel and effective usage of available kits.
It isn't the kit, it is the usual users (as exemplified by this thread) that make the kit have a bad reputation.Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

Re: Sniper issue.
The thing is, nobody uses snipers correctly. A sniper isn't there to sit ontop of a hil land kil leverything that moves which is how people play. It's to observe the enemy, provide intel and laser targets and to occasionally give fire support by firing on enemy medics and squad leaders.
But everybody just wants to run in and kill the enemy with them, me included though I'm usually alot slower with the kills as it's the second thing I think about.

Re: Sniper issue.
That is because they were far away, doing it right, and not bragging about their K
ratios
I've used it right and been in several sniper squads that did so although not recently. Oddly, one round we were chastised by people who complain about the kit being used wrong, but for not getting enough kills despite our generous intel reports and lazing for CAS...Just because everyone does something does not mean that it is right to do.

Re: Sniper issue.
That's because no matter what you do with the sniper kit, you're wrong simply because you have the kit. At least that seems to be the popular opinion

EDIT:
I wanted to add a funny story the above reminded me of.
I was playing as a sniper one round, identifying problem areas and contacts for the rest of the team and occasionally taking out priority targets (AA, RPG, and of course the guys that try to save them/pick up the kits).
At one point I had identified and reported a cache location... I could even see it inside the building. I relayed the information to the CO and he told me to shoot it so that it would be destroyed. I informed him I was a sniper and wasn't equipped to comply with that order. The CO then pretty much told me I was being useless because I had the sniper kit.
So, as you can see... no matter what you do as a sniper you're useless. Isn't it obvious??
And before anybody bitches about me playing a sniper on insurgency, I was on a no access roof with a medic spotting, not running around in the street with my pistol out. Normally I keep the sniper in the main base or out of bounds for insurgents, but we had a sniper friendly chopper pilot ready to drop us on the roof/provide extractions so we made an exception.Last edited by Alpha_s9; 12-02-2009 at 03:27 PM.

Re: Sniper issue.
Me? I like to take the kit without asking my SL, leave my squad, start a one-man locked squad and grab a logistics truck so I have lots of extra ammo in those two crates, drive off to my best sniping spots and "help the team" by firing repeatedly so the enemy knows where I'm at and can come kill me. This is generous of me because then they get the joy of typing into All Chat "Thanks for the sniporz kit!!! Nub sniporz!!!!" See? It's all about helping others have fun!!!
That kind of stuff makes my day and is why I love the sniper kit. Best kit in the game!!
