Re: TGU, PR and You.
If you're setting up to defend a particular area with a grenadier kit and have the time, just pop off a smoke as a rangefinder to get a feel for it. It's not too hard, I don't really think there needs to be a class for it..

Suppresive fire....don't really need a course though - FFS when SL puts down a marker shoot at it, yes even the unscoped guys too?
I love UGL, but hey just go on a training server as SL, use markers that will help you guess ranges ingame when the SL is too busy or is using markers for something else.

Re: TGU, PR and You.
I propose a course that teaches you how to use audio clues to your advantage. Anyone with a sound card and a decent set of headphones knows how much better the game plays when you can actually tell the difference between a friendly vehicle and an enemy one just from the sound. With a little practice you can even determine bearing and approximate range of many vehicles just by listening.
Most important, listening for the sound of the enemy infantryman as he takes out his knife to stab you in the back while your sniping, allowing you to do a prone 180 and no scope him. (This section is strictly for SirSolo's benefit).
EDIT: After some additional thought, I'm forced to consider the idea that maybe a "sniper" course wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea. While the sniper kit in PR has gotten a bad rap, especially on TG, most of us agree that it still has the potential to be a powerful kit when used properly. Why not a course that actually stresses the fundamentals of good scout/sniping? The course would teach people how to move around on the battlefield covertly (something you can use in any infantry squad), teach people how to spot and report targets from a concealed position (another invaluable infantry skill) and finally, how to choose and take out priority targets without being discovered (the emphasis here would be on picking targets carefully: AT kits, AA, other snipers, etc) not simply building a body count.
I know I'll probably still get flak for a suggestion like this, but its something I'd be interested in seeing taught, even if I had to teach it myself.
Also; don't let my radical sniper views take too much away from my above-mentioned course on audio tactics, I think that one could really help people become better players.

Re: TGU, PR and You.
I think instead of these individual classes what about an infstry kit class so you learn about all the kits. The special 2 man squad kits may need their own class since they are a bit moe complicated.

Re: TGU, PR and You.
I am actually in the process of writing a Sniper/Marksmanship, target spotting, contact confirmation TGU Course/Competition class which is partly based on the Top Sniper Competition which has been on The Military Channel for the past few months.
It will encompass using various kits as sniper/spotter and both the sniper and the spotter will be using their kits as weapons for targets, very hands on and interactive.
I just started writing it up, haven't posted it on the TGU forums, and I foresee it really coming into play once .9 comes out, especially with the deploy able marksmen kit.
In theory it will be able to allow 18 plus players for the event/course. I have to see how my initial write up goes, revision and then the replies from the TGU PR community.
So stay tuned for that.Randy = Ace ! - Warlab

Re: TGU, PR and You.
Perhaps it was just my tone of voice, but I was being serious. Although, the sniper course might be redundant since everyone and their grandmother already seems to know how to use the kit, according to the feedback I personally get.
And for the record, Sirsolo. Not SirSolo. Sir is not a title, it's a part of my name. Thus why Solo doesnt start with a capital S. It irks me.|TG-Irr|Sirsolo since 18OCT08.
