Hello everybody... its doctor Nick!!
Nah, its [SWE]drbarris actually.
Played here for a couple of months and havent found another server with more teamwork and tactical gaming... (no pun intended)
Love it so much I decided to donate a few bucks every month.
Been playing with most of you guys I believe and its always great to join a squad with a regular leading.
See you on the battlefield!

Re: Introduce Yourself
The name's Ytman. Pleasure to meet ya'll.
Started playing PR about after the release of BF 2 v1.5
Loved it a lot. Played on -H- servers mostly. Then with the beta moved to TG servers to test it out. Loved that. The use of mumble is what really kept me here. I got the ball moving yesterday when I saw that internal scrim advertised. So I joined up and played. It was a great game and I love to see such work like this.
I'll be seeing ya'll.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hallo...
I'm GoGuapsy, I played a bit when specops class was still in and came back at around .7
I normally play on whatever server has a good population. TG is my favourite because of the beta and the teamwork and mumble usage. *H* servers used to be good, UKWF has had a drop in quality but fun nonetheless.
See you all on t3h battlefield!

Re: Introduce Yourself
I have been lurking around the forums for about 6-8 months (maybe more?) and playing on the server for about that long too, maybe slightly longer (it didn't take me long to find my way here
). But since I have recently begun posting, I figured it was time to come here and say "Hello", before you all are like "who the hell is this guy?"
I am so glad that I found the TG server and forums. I love the team play and willingness of the great majority of players in this server to attempt to apply basic infantry tactics, or to learn them if they are not familiar.
I definately lean toward the sim/immersion end of the spectrum, but I try to tone down the "OSCAR MIKE" business when I get the feeling that those in my squad are not feeling it, lol. I have been reading up on ArmA, and I would really like to check it out just as soon as I get a new graphics card and some more memory (I may even have to wait until I build a new computer). But I (maybe it is due to my hardware, or maybe just my lack of skill) am certainly not anything approaching "twitch" as I think you guys call it. I am much more of a strategist / tactician.
Therefore in game I almost always SL an infantry squad, I usually call it "TACT INF." I try to employ very basic infantry tactics (splitting into 2 fireteams for suppressing fire and maneuver, proper spacing, no special kits etc.) as well as observe proper and (more importantly) concise yet informative comms. If that sounds like your cup of tea, then by all means please join me! When I don't feel like leading, I try to get into a good squad and I usually Medic, AR, or just rifleman. I practically never take any special kits or drive any heavy assets, unless it's late / the server is not full / and we are getting housed and no one on our team is running armor properly.
Sometimes when things are going crappy for my team I will jump in and command (again, when it's late or no one else seems to be doing it, I don't claim to be the best commander). When I command I don't necessarily tell people what to do if they seem to be going in the right direction (unless the whole team is going there, in which case I may advise they go elsewhere or approach the same objective from a different side). I just try to keep a birds eye view of the battle and be more of a "coordinator" than a "commander", marking contacts on the map, etc.
I am looking forward to taking some classes and becoming more involved in the community here. I will probably eventually become a supporting member as well.
Besides playing PR, I love to go fishing and boating. Luckily I live in Florida and I get to do it fairly often. I am a native Florida cracker, and I am also a huge fan of the Florida Gators. As some of you may or may not know, college football is like religion down here in the South. We start tailgating early in the morning and it is an all day affair, so therefore you will never find me in the server on any Saturdays in the fall.
I'm sorry if that was too long for you guys, I hope no one was like "TL/DR", lol. I just figure if you are going to introduce yourself, then you should do so, not just say "Hi" and one or two meaningless sentences.
P.S. - I was going to post a pic of myself (along with brother and nephews) on the fishing boat, but I can't until I have 15 posts. Bah!De Oppresso Liber
I'm the other Randy Shughart (in TG).
If you don't know who the real life Randy Shughart was, learn about him here, here, and here.
Those of us who read the forums are like the Christians. Christianity was not intended for everyone, rather for the few to go forth amongst the many (pub server) and spread the good news (tactics/knowledge). So take the opportinity to witness (lead by example) to a heathen (smurf) by showing them the TG way! Amen!

Welcome Krucial!
You could join a public training server, if you want some company...but some public training servers makes me scared.
All it needs is that somebody constantly shouts "enemy spotted" , to make it into vanilla

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello everyone! I have also been lurking on the forum for quite a while, except for the one odd post somewhere. You may have seen me on the server once or twice, both as SM, SL and CO. My ingame name is Wrestlers[ESF].
If I'm not playing with my clan, the TG server is the only place where I'm gonna get any good teamwork and mumble usage (RT might be an exception there).
To me, mumble is not only a great inter-team communication tool, but it's also a very good way to manage fireteams. And this is probable the only server in which I see both proper tactics and good mumble usage.
Hats off to everyone making that possible!

Re: Introduce Yourself
Welcome all,
If I didn't get a chance to squad up with you in 2009, I look forward to in 2010. I am eagerly awaiting to see what is in store @ TG on the PR server in the next year. If you seek any tips in regards to your gaming experience, please check out the PR tactics and tips forum and if you wish to learn how to be a efficient squad leader, armor gunner/driver, pilot, or how to properly use and gain expertise with any specialty kit, please check out the TGU forums and make a request for a class.
I look forward to seeing you on the Project Reality Server and on the forums. Welcome!
