Re: Introduce Yourself
Welcome, Garabaldi!
AAS2 is definitely a vast improvement on the original AAS (which I also liked). I'm also looking forward to trying the various VIP maps too.
There's a lot of changes in 0.5, but I think as people adjust to them much of the frustration will disappear. Some of the new stuff will hopefully cause the in house squads, and non-squaddies who regularly game together, to evolve their existing SOP's amd tactocs.
This mod is perfectly suited for the TG primer. It requires that the team treat the game as a real life simulation in order to win.BFCL TF2 league admin

Re: Introduce Yourself
Look who’s back and feeling prime.
I decided to go for one more tour of duty with Project Reality.
Reaons: Should be a while for Arm A to come out here in the U.S. Plus, I really do not have the money for it.
PR .5 looks tight. The gameplay looks promising.
I have already got all set up and am fit for duty (installed game and downloaded the latest patch and the PR mod, and tested it out on-line). I am currently spending my time at TG’s H.Q., specifically spending time at the firing range, obstacle course, reading AARs and the PR primer (practicing offline and reading the PR manual).
Once my N.C.O gives me my orders, I look forward to lacing up my boots one more time, and taking teamwork and tactics to the extreme.
____
With this next tour of duty I plan on:
1. Playing the game more than anything else. Specifically, at least three times a week depending upon when the password nights are set up. On Thursdays, I like to hook up with team Euro and play on their frequent gaming times.
2. Write a sound AAR once a week.
3. Help the new guy by stabling New TG squads (this will come later if I become an N.C.O. again.
4. Stay away from tactics and general discussion on the forums (RL demands more time)
5. After establishing myself as an N.C.O., apply for O.C.S.
6. Helping TG set up Platoon size scrims either inside the community or out.Last edited by Rick_the_new_guy; 02-11-2007 at 10:36 PM.

Re: Introduce Yourself
That is awesome stuff Rick. I was going to suggest you give PR a try. It's just the type of thing you would enjoy.

Re: Introduce Yourself
well, my name is (obviously) legato895. i doubt if anybody recognizes me, but i played on TG servers way back when bf2 was first released and it was the only server i played on until i burned out of bf2 a few months later. got allot of hours in tho...
in between, my addictions to other games (cs:s and eve online) have also risen and fallen. and here i am... read the digg.com article about PR and i am hooked. played a few hours last night/early morning and i can't wait for more!
hopefully i'll start seeing some of the old timers around
edit> gone are the days of 5 snipers and one medic owning

Re: Introduce Yourself
I remember Legato for holding down a flag for me on Dalian on his own as a sniper. One of the best in his day. Welcome back!

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello, PolarisFox here, ingame my name is JupiterFox and some of you may have seen me or had me in their squad mostly as a medic.
I love this mod and it is really great for teamplay and I actually have to try hard to actually shoot someone, and use my loadout properly. And the best teamplay I have gotten are ussualy in TG squads, yesterday was a great game and I hope I can experience more of those games.
I'm basicaly a new guy and would like to learn more of TG so I can spread the love.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Welcome fox! Take your time and read through the forums, specifically the rules & announcements. When your in-game, do your best to follow orders... or even step up as SL and give orders. Communication is key.
The next thing you can do is say hello to the other players in your squad. Tell them that if they liked the teamwork to head on over to tacticalgamer.com.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello.
I've been playing PR for several days now, and I like to think I have the hang of it. I'm really enjoying the TG server in particular, and I join it whenever I see a spot open, so I thought I'd register here and say hi.
Not to suck up overly much, but I wanted to compliment John_C. Whenever a problem arises on the server he always seems to be there and resolves the problem quickly, and the other day when the USMC squads were bugged, he joined the game and commanded a round of Al Basrah. Though I haven't been playing PR for very long, he's the best commander I've seen yet, and I enjoyed coordinating with him as a Blackhawk squad leader and pilot.
Props to Dirtboy as well, I was in his squad for several rounds yesterday, and he kept us organized and effective even amongst the... questionable antics of the rest of our team.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Welcome guys! I'm really glad to see so many new faces brought to TG by this mod. Be sure to tell all of your squad mates in game to step in here and say hello.
And of course if you haven't, then read over the SOP's and forum rules.Retired 6th DB
