Re: Introduce Yourself
Yeah, I was looking for a name that would show teamwork. So I found the word Synergy, combined action or functioning, and decided to put it into my name. Then I started naming off random adjectives, when I got to Vivid, which means it's distinct, and then you have Distinct Teamwork. (=

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hi everyone. New here. New to Project Reality as well, although I have been playing BF2 for who knows how long.
I had my first experience on a Tactical Gamer server tonight, and I must say, it blew my mind. It was incredible. Our squad worked so well, lead by an excellent squad leader and the other squads played their parts right which resulted in a LAST MINUTE win of 8 to 2, even though the other team had the upper hand for 99.999999% of the 3 HOUR game.
Wow.
Had to join Tactical Gamers straight away.
Anyway, glad to find you fellas here. A few good men.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello all,
Finally bought BF2 and almost immediately installed PR after getting a typed "kill" response after requesting for orders on vanilla BF2.
First day playing
SL: "Squad leader down!"
[Trying to revive him...]
SL: "Please tell me you know how to use a medic kit."
[30 seconds later]
SL: "Don't bother reviving me."
Not so good...
Second day of play
Got in a quite nice squad on the TG server on the Fools Road map. SL was happy to lead us, I revived my teammates quite a few times. We took the Hilltop Estate and after a while we tried to capture the Helicopter Air Base, which didn't work out quite so well. The SL left the game, my squadmembers died and suddenly I found myself standing alone in the base, with an enemy APC in it. On top of that I became SL with the others not willing to take over after saying that I was still a new player.
Later on I was in the forest trekking through the hills with a different squad while hearing a friendly truck. As I saw it approach I stepped out of its way, laughing at the sight of it. A few seconds later I was run over by it as it slid back down the hill. I wanted to forgive the driver, but hit the wrong button so the opposite happened. The driver wasn't too happy by it, so I typed: "Sorry, kick him rather than me." Driver got even less happy and rightly so as my intention was to type: "Sorry, kick me rather than him." as it was my mistake for hitting the wrong button (and getting behind a truck driving up a hill in the first place).
Now I have read most guides on PR and I hope to get enough knowledge and experience soon, so that I can add the |TG| tag, knowing that I will able to live up to the expectations. If you see me online, I hope that my willingness to be a teamplayer evens up some of the stupid mistakes I will be making while learning the game.
Cheers,
Fishbone

Re: Introduce Yourself
Don't the n00bs with the best hearts and the greatest intentions always have the worst possible luck in the world on their first sorte into the PR realm? I know I had my share when I first started. Just keep on trucking Fishbone. Keep trying, keep learning and keep playing your heart out. Eventually you will be leading your squad into battle victoriously. It's just a slow slow up hill battle but the view when you crest that first hill is quite a good one.
Good luck to your adventures and see you on the battlefield!
P.S. Anyone who is not willing to take squad leader after the SL leaves and then complains that the current SL is a n00b is a selfish squad whoring hypocrite. And you can quote me on that..
"Young gamers assault while Older gamers flank."
"When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross." - Sinclair Lewis
