Re: Introduce Yourself
Hiya guys.
I'm Tony. I'm from Australia.
I don't have BF2 yet, But I will be purchasing the Deluxe Edition in a few days to come.
I did have BF2142, But that wasn't an experience remember. I'm actually giving my BF2142 account away on the Sell/Trade forum.
Anyway. Good to be here =]

SparkyMark420 is my brother, he's kind of a newbie, but already he definatly knows more about PR then I do... not a bad squad leader.... the coolest thing is that since he is new he is eager to lead...

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hello FullMetal, welcome to the server. Make sure you've put your BF2 player id into your profile, so that the server will recognise you and let you in.
I'm sure that you'll fit in here and that your decision to support the community with a supporting membership was the right one.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hey everyone, finally got around to installing Project Reality after a year long gaming leave. I am in love with this mod, this is how BF2 should have been made lol.
I really hope to possibly joining a clan.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Well I think a lot of dudes know me but I need to kill some time so here goes.

I started out on TG in 2003 playing Ghost Recon Co-Op. Actually it was called XLII back then. I had flight-simmed for a long time with Badger and he pointed me over here.
Badger and I played the first Internet MMOG, WarBirds, which was a hardcore WWII flight sim. I got super addicted to WarBirds and a spinoff called Aces High, to the point of running a squadron and planning and leading operations with up to 150 players on each side. Some other WarBirds players made a voice comms system called Roger Wilco and we used to have a blast creating these huge recreations of historical air battles with a realistic chain of command, GCI, etc. You got one life only in each event, which still shapes my planning and thinking today.
Anyways, I did GR on and off until Joint Operations came out, which I played the crap out of with Apophis and Luna and others. But it was even less realistic than vanilla BF2, so I tired of it.
I did some sporadic OFP gaming here, but that game was so buggy in multiplayer that I got tired of that too. During this period I mostly went sim racing and played Combat Mission.
I got back into TG again when BF2 came out. Just like with JO, the lack of realism burned me out and I went away for a couple of years. More sim racing at race2play.net (fabulous online racing site) during that period.
Then a couple of months ago I saw the PR area here, and figured I'd try it out. Since then I've had a blast. The level of play is so much higher than the early vanilla days. There's a dozen squad leaders on the server that are better than anyone we had back in the day. And the mod is excellent, although to some degree it's like putting lipstick on a pig. But other than one stupid thing I did, this has been super fun and addictive. Yaay TG.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Welp, might as well. Jumped on the server for about...three full rounds and finally figured my way around the basic functions of the medic kit. Shooting is still very odd, but I'm working on it. I've played BF2142 for about two years now, but I can always use a change of pace and so far everyone's been very welcoming. I'll be around a bit more, I should think.

Hey mike, when I first saw your name I got freaked out, seeing as there is someone I know by that name, but since your from norway I crossed out that possibility.

Re: Introduce Yourself
Hey all - I'm new to PR, vBF2 vet, but like the mod a lot. I have read the manual, but need some pointers, so if you see me around please don't be shy and tell me what to do! I'm halfway proficient at any kit and will do what the squad/team needs.
I am going to install version 8 soon, I'm still using the singleplayer version of 7 to learn the maps a bit before I jump back in. I tried your server a while ago (version 7) and generally found it pretty welcoming (except for all the people shooting at me).
If you have any advice on when/who to play with, much appreciated.
