Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
I was thinking the same thing.
One side Corp the first match
The next match they switch teams
Match three could be a classic vanillia map or what ever to decide a tie.
I would also help and sign up with such a scrim.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member
(CPO) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Leader
(LCDR) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Commander

Right back at you Finestyle. You are always welcome on my squad. Good time last night on PR. The Helo extraction by the general was nothing short of epic.

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
Ditto from me Finestyle. I had a lot of fun playing with you, e-male and the rest of the squad last night.
I have to ask--Why is the server playing in AAS mode the last couple of days?? Please Change it back to conquest
I must say that PRM is so close to tac mod in my opinion that I feel kind of guilty playing it instead of tacmod. Lots of fine work from several TGers went into tacmod development (Asch and Duke come to mind but I'm sure there are others) and it seems a shame for it to lie fallow while PRM gets all the glory at the moment.
Asch--thanks for stepping up to command last night. I was SL'ing a mixed group of newcomers and TGer's and your commands gave us the direction we needed to break a stalemate on the Road to Jalalabad map. It makes a big difference having a commander who is coordinating tactics.
Why aren't TG'ers flocking to this server !!
**Hijack warning**
I keep losing my connection on this mod. My screen freezes and audio goes into a loop for about 30 seconds. It clears, then I get disconnected. I changed the affinity on my dual core chip but that doesn't seem to help.
Anyone else getting this error?|TG-1st|Grunt

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
Well Grunt, I have been gettin real choppy sound that goes in and out almost like there is a loose connection but after numerous test I have determined that it is the mod itself.
And yes Finestyle I will agree with you that any of the 1stMIP is a pleasure to squad up with. They are a group of guys that you can join thier squad; not even say a word JUST keep your ears open and you will learn an unbelievable amount just within 1 round. I am very quiet when I play and don't talk an awful lot mostly in part of trying to concentrate and also to be a sponge and soak up all the knowledge I can and 1stMIP makes that very easy bc they are very verbal to where all you must do is listen and follow orders and you will be successful. THanks for a great learning atmosphere guys!PSN= Lethal_420

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
hehehe, after being in those trenches so deep behind enemy lines for so long, with one failed fast mover extraction and seeing off an enemy tank and an enemy APC attack, seeing that bird coming our way was a relief to say the least, well done that man! Possibly one of the best extractions ever! lol
But to then go on to assault and secure the next two objectives was a fantastic effort to say the least.
Great times guys, great times!Finestyle

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
What happened with that helo extraction! I'm sorry I missed it. I've been busy the past few nights but am eager to get back into some PRM.. should be on tonight.
I asked in another thread but will ask again here - are we installing the 1.41 client patch or no?

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
I just downloaded PRM so I'll be getting in on the fun. I'm having a really hard time getting it to run smoothly though. A whole heckuva lot of stuttering!

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
I was SL on Greasy Mullet (??) map last night. We took the flag on the West side of the bridge and grabbed some armor, headed South for the next flag, one that was heavily defended. Half way there we lost all our armour, so I took my men West up into the hills. A direct assult on the flag with infantry was out of the question. I put a soldier (Finestyle I think) on point to find a flanking-West safe route. This we found in the rolling hills of the highlands. We ended up deep in a gourge, almost went the wrong way (too far West), before I realized that the gourge connected to another trench that would take us South West of the enemy flag. This we followed on foot, but meanwhile our last flag was lost to the enemy, so we could not take the flag beside us (playing AAS mode, new to me...).
I held our squad in postion waiting so see what would happen, but there simply was not enough remaining forces to repell the enemy to our North. Meanwhile, an enemy tank rolled into our trench at the South end. Panic. I popped smoke and ran North while my AT engaged. For some reason the enemy tank driver disembarked -- so we dealt with that problem. Meanwhile our forces lost ANOTHER flag to the North. Now we were on foot TWO flags behind enemy lines.
While we lay in the trench pondering epistemological issues surrounding postmodernism, a jetfighter pursued a warthog above us. The warthog's engines repeatedly bathed us in a low rumble as it passed over our heads. That awkward ballet ended abruptly in a mid air collision above our heads that brought a whole new meaning to immersive battle simulation.
Moments later I saw Grunt, in another squad, flying a troop helo toward our position, but he was smoking and had to head back. Someone suggested grabbing an enemy jeep and getting out. A good idea, so we began to move DEEPER into enemy lines while one of my men went for a jeep. Before that could transpire, we gained a new squad member, the 'general' who saw our situation and grabbed a troop helo at our airfield and headed in our direction.
MEANWHILE, an enemy APC rolled into our position. More controlled panic -- literally, we were now under attack with help in the air and on the way. I HAD to clear the area of the enemy APC before our helo evac arrived at the marker.
My men made quick work of the lone APC, our helo landed, we scrambled in (all the while two flags behind enemy lines...), headed East to flank enemy attacking our flag which was the other side of the bridge (East). I ordered the helo down to a safe distance East of the flag, my men went in, eliminated the enemy after a fierce fight, and I turned our attention to the next flag, the one on the West side of the bridge (which was the flag from which we initially began this epic journey).
With Finestyle (Medic) in tow, I crossed the bridge via the catwalk, made it to the other side, my men secured an area up top for me to move to, and we took the flag back while behind us the bridge disintegrated. Finestyle (I think) was critical in reviving me numerous times throughout this assault, including once when I started under the catwalk, immediately encountered two enemy and died. Finestyle, in fine style, jumped down onto the catwalk, killed the two enemy, and revived me!
Our last maneuver was in fast jeeps BACK to the enemy flag at which we were previously stuck. No enemy around as yet, but time was up.
We lost the round by only a few points, but man, what a trip.
And not one damn screen shot to show for our efforts.

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
Great story E-male ! It was a joy to read and I can imagine (as someone who involved in similar dramatic 1stMIP operations before) how much more joy it was to play it
The suspense of insertions and extractions, oh boy...

Re: Working to realize the potential of PR
definatly one I'll remember.
hehe...Trying to get a ride out of those trenches was my shout and it was me and another man that infiltrated the enemy base to bring a vodnik to your location... The only problem was that when I got there and parked up waiting for the men to loadup that APC appeared on my six and started tearing into me... "controled panic" you say... ROFL... nicely put!
And that dogfight above, the sound of that plane
... about 1 minute of it followed by a hugh explosion right above the trench, that was pretty special.
