Suggestions for Anti Armor?
Hi There! Wanted to say the PR server is a lot of fun! I was wondering if any of you that have a few more hours in PR than I could help out by offering some tips on how to best combat armor in this mod.
The Quartermaster was asleep at the switch, so the best I could do was spawn as the AT Rifleman, but I found the new RPG weapon challenging to say the least.
Have the 'sweet spots' on the armor changed at all? Are we still aiming for the rear of the tracks?
Is the RPG a dumb fire, or is it guidable? Does the rocket drop over distance, like POE? (I didn't have time to notice, too busy getting killed and dodging incoming heat)
Did anyone else notice that the RPG reload seems to take forever? I found that even with a rifleman following me around I was unable to get shots off fast enough to support my squad.
Thanks for any hints, and looking forward to teaming back up with you all in PR soon! (Also - extra thanks for all the TG SLs out there, you guys keep me coming back.)

Re: Suggestions for Anti Armor?
greetings,
the Heavy AT kit (limited) will be allowable once the next patch gets the Q.M. off his butt. lol.
(note in really small games the QM goes to work. )
From what I understand it can be quite deadly.
Giving out ammo is a full time job it seems. A lot of others have brought this up.(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member

Re: Suggestions for Anti Armor?
Exactly, and actually at close to medium range (less than about 75 yds), if anything, you have to aim a bit low (something like at the tracks), in order to hit center mass. However at a decent range just aim at the center and it will hit. They also travel very fast so you don't have to lead a shot on a moving target so much.
As for the resupply, yes it does take a bit of time, something along the lines of about 30 seconds of sitting on an ammo pack. (I roughly equated it to the length taken to respawn) However its within reason, considering that it's assumably taking the place of the time it takes to reload the unit, since the fact that when you do reload the shot, it's already primed and ready to go.
As for the tanks "sweet spots", essentially its: Back of tank (1st choice), Side of tank (2nd choice), Front of tank (3rd choice), in that order. You can't go wrong if you follow those guidelines.
Hope that helps.Focused

Re: Suggestions for Anti Armor?
Even with the New release you have to let the RPG deviation settle, same with LAT and HAT, I suggest finding a nice spot, especially as an insurgent with a RPG and have patience.

DO NOT fire the HAT (Anti-Tank kit) from a prone position. You will blow yourself and your ammo rifleman (and any other nearby infantry) to smithereens. I keep forgetting that bit.

3 years old and getting older.
I like to find a nice hiding spot and let the armor pass me so I can shoot it from behind and skedaddle.
LAT settle time is about 4 seconds, I think...
HAT is good to go as soon as the brackets reach the center. I aim a little high with the HAT.
I fire em' both crouched. Never prone. Sometimes standing.

How bored are you that you would resurrect a 3-year old thread??

Lets the assets do it.Suggestions for Anti Armor
Shouldn't old threads like this be deleted over a certain amount of time? Seems like a waste of internet space.

Re: Suggestions for Anti Armor?
Even though It is a very old thread, it is actually kind of relevant, that's is initially why I replied to it, especially with the new deviation aspects of anti-armor kits in .86.

Yeah, I was wondering why they were saying the L-AT "shoots liker a laser". It shoots more like a bowling ball out of an airgun.
