VIP map
Hey folks I just got done doing some public server playing and we played one of those "protect the VIP" maps. Damn that was fun!!! I can't remember the name of the map but there was a shallow river running north to south and it was surrounded by what looked like elephant grass. I ended up playing an engineer for most of the round and I can tell you that in close quarters that shotgun is just gross. I even bounced a guy off the ground when I dove in behind him and pulled the trigger, he must have gone 10 feet. Anyway I was wondering if this was something that we might be doing on our servers also? Don't get me wrong the AAS and conquest is great but it might be nice to mix up the "game" a little.
Oh and on this type of map the insurgents really have an edge...... damn they were everywhere.

Re: VIP map
This type of game mode is called "extraction". I have to admit, I have absolutely no idea what is happening but it's still fun. I played the map you described, and the "policeman" has the DAO so yeah, lots of splatter in CQC. It also had ATVs and motorcycles zipping through the elephant grass.
It started off well enough. My SL said "we're going to rendezvous with the VIP at the purple smoke...but I don't see...AHH, there it is!!" and sure enough a big plume of purple smoke appeared. I know there are supposed to be different colored smoke grenades in PRM but that was the first I'd seen something other than grey...very cool! After that it was just chaotic fighting through the elephant grass but there's definitely potential there.
Asch and I played an urban extraction map a couple of weeks ago and it was the first time I saw the SAS actually win. I thought it was necessary for the VIP to make it to the other side of the map to win; I'm certain that couldn't have happened but somehow we still won.
I really need to read up on this mode though since I know so little about it. I don't even know if the VIP is a real player or if it's some sort of bot...|TG-1stMIP|Coridon

Re: VIP map
the map your talking about is raid on moskyie
rightt now id call it work in progress... the map LOOKS GREAT! but.... the amount ofvehicles is too high for my taste, and the vehicle respawns way too quickly....
that being said its really fun to escort the pilot.
the objective is you must rescue the pilot from the south flag and get him to the north flag. its all written in the PR wiki that is linked within these forums.

Re: VIP map
it would be cool if the VIP would be a player
Talk about being in the hot seat (passenger) as they travel to their destination.
it would be cool to jump out of a flaming SUV and run screaming as Ricky Bobby:
Ohh god i am on fire!!
Save me Jesus!
Save me Jewish guy!
Save me Tom Cruise!
Save me Ophrah !(PO3) Marcinko_R. (BF2 PR .509) Squad Member
