Re: So you want to play in a 1stMIP squad?
Brass....good question about staying together...It's inevitable that you'll find yourself not knowing where your FT is. It sounds overly simple...but just asking over voip is very effective. ..."Alpha 1, your postion please...over" I still find myself losing my FTL...Also...alot of times on manuevers Alpha team is separated from Bravo so it's as simple as a quick look at the mini map to see the spread and relative location of the squad and FT.
Feel free to join up with the 1st anytime. Also feel free to join any squad I lead when the 1st is not squadded up. I usually have a TG Style squad going on early in the evening before joining up in force with the rest of the 1st. My squad's are usually defensive in nature and not always fire team based. We have tremendous SL's in the 1st and I've learned alot from them but I don't pretend to have half their Squadleading acumen.|TG-1st|Grunt

Yeah, the problem comes when the squad respawns and you're trying to get organized again. But the white marker thing will be a big help.

Re: So you want to play in a 1stMIP squad?
Played on John's squad yesterday. We had an awesome round on Mao Valley. Even if our team lost, our squad was really organized, with fire teams formed and people actually following orders.
It was awesome =)
Thanks John, and thanks MIP

Re: So you want to play in a 1stMIP squad?
John CANavar I have this same policy: if you dont follow orders and stick with the squad, you get a warning. If you repeatedly do this, I have no time to waste on you. I *will* spend a long time explaining things to new players, at the cost of tickets and losing ground to the enemy. I have done this repeatedly. However if the new player refuses to follow orders is just acting like a space cadet, hes getting kicked...
Glad to see others using a policy like yours!

Re: So you want to play in a 1stMIP squad?
I wish players would leave tightly run squads quicker when it's really not their thing, or if they don't feel like playing that way at that time. There is only good in that.
A side-effect of the kit-system is that players join squads just for kits and spawns. I find that I am having to kick a lot more players from my squad on PR then vanilla/poe. I the end it is a good thing though, as many players do respond adequately the SL's orders. I often do get tired of it, lock the squad and only except players that request an invite via in game chat. When I see that someone has tried to join my locked squad I will also check for any players I know that are unassigned.
This side-effect can make speciality squads quite cumbersome if not locked (which is against the rules or sops). Contrary to vanilla, players will join your air squad all the time....who don't want to fly! If you don't keep it locked, infantry looking for kits will be pouring into the squad. If you lock it, pilots and gunners won't be able to get in, and your team will end up with three air squads, all half-filled with infantry.
Maybe it's all just growing pains. What it's like to play online games as a grown-up:http://s3.amazonaws.com/theoatmeal-i...e_gaming/1.jpg

Re: So you want to play in a 1stMIP squad?
I've been invited to a 1stMIP squad on occassions (thanks John). For the first couple of times it was confusing until I got the hang of it. I really like the structured approach as I know exactly what I'm supposed to do and where I'm supposed to go. I'll be happy to play with you guys again anytime.
Having said that please don't ask me to be Medic again - I'm totally useless and end up runining all over the place looking for the body attached to the voice saying "I need a medic"
