Re: Project Reality Password Nights Are Here!

I just want to publicly apologize to everyone who was in my squad for last night's pw night. I was terrible and I assume all responsibility if anyone had a rotten time.

The night started with Kashan. We were MEC and it was a complete abortion (we lost - 620-0 ). That map set my mood for the rest of the night, and I should have just disconnected and left, but I was so jazzed about the first .7 pw night that I didn't. Stupid me - lesson learned.

I was also disappointed not to play any of the new .7 maps. I was so looking forward to either Fools Road or Qinling. I'd much rather have one of those than Kashan any day. I think PW night should focus on the combined arms maps, which require a greater level of team play and coordination, which is what pw night is all about. My $0.02.

[EDIT] Oh! Just remembered one VERY important thing! Please change the timer on the round start for the pw night profile back to 3 minutes! It was generally 30 seconds last night by the time I got in and got my squad created. Not nearly enough time to go over my squad SOP, assign fire teams, kits, and our roll out plan. This was a lot of the problem last night, at least for me - I was scrambling to get caught up on the paperwork and we were already in the field.[/EDIT]

p'shaww we had fun with the EJOD hotness. I was looking forward to the new maps as well but the pw was taken off right before Qinling. But I know our squad was enjoying itself.. after all it does fill up in about half a second.

true! it was very painful - only 1 1/2 squad open and ppl could already spawn
ofc no commander at that time, yet

    scrambled squads - are not tg-like :P

That 620-0 loss was embarrassing, I'm glad that I only caught the last 20 minutes of it.

Wow, that is about all I can say about the experience I had on PW night tonight. Between the changes to the weapons, the total lack of coordination, and just general noobness it was very frustrating. I've had better games on regular open server nights. It simply astounds me that people have to get on the forum to get the password, and the password is a blatant reminder of the rules and still people run around like idiots. I am speaking specifically to the squad that was attacking the road out of Pig Farm and stayed camped there long enough to kill our squad at least three times over. Pig Farm was not even in play at this point and yet we couldn't make it out of base to get to the control points that were in play.

I don't know guys. It seems like 0.7 has brought out the worst in all of us. I wonder if it might not be a good idea to just go back and put 0.6 up on the server. If this gets much more like a chore I'm moving on to some other game or mod.

    Elwenil,

I was the squad leader in that squad I believe you are referring to. Specifically I will tell you that although I can not account for every action of every member in my squad, that we were approximately 500 meters south of Pig Farm. My squad was repeatedly warned to not engage anything at PF until it had gone a few hundred meters out of the base. My squad and I saw ppl typing warnings in addition to my own and reported to me that none of us was engaing PF. We were waiting for the action that was see-sawing back and forth at Mine and Processing to settle (hopefully in out tems favor). At that point we were going to engage PF. That is, when it was in play. I believe none of us were hitting PF when we shouldnt have. The squad members were good guys and we were all talking well between us. My warnings were heeded to the best of my knowledge.

With due respect it sure seems as if our team was very fast out of the starting blocks that game and just kind of put it to you guys. Im here for teamwork, comraderie, and of course a win. But win I lose, which is quite often it is frustrating. Im assuming you got a truck-load of that that round.

    Best wishes.

Attacking the road out is ok as long as it's far away from pigfarm (i say 200-300 meters out of view distance from the curve between the mountains). If they are destroying things 10 seconds after they leave the pig farm thats highly illegal.

Damnit Blizzard, fix ZvT already >.<

Re: Project Reality Password Nights Are Here!

Warlab, I don't think you were the same squad. These guys attacked us as we were coming down out of the mountains South of Pig Farm. At the top of the hill above Pig Farm there is a small house and there the road bends sharply West and goes W/NW along the cliff edge. We had a rally at the house and were attacked on our rally then pursued to Pig Farm. When the rally was destroyed, I spawned at Pig Farm in time to see an enemy chasing one of my squad members NE down the ridge, not 60 yds off Pig Farm. This was at a time when Mine was still firmly in our posession and we were trying to take Processing. Granted our team was horribly disorganized and even my squad members were attcking Mine when they should have been defending Pig Farm, so the whole match was a mess.

Regardless, I can deal with this sort of thing, but it is important to point out that it seems to be becoming more and more frequent. And there seems to be an attitude of "if the other team is doing things wrong, so can we". Again, I can't seem to understand why this sort of thing seems to happen more on PW nights then on a normal weekday evening. I think last Friday night was one of the best night's I've been online since I started playing PR, even with the rubber barrel'ed G3.

Again, I'm not whining, just stating that we all need to be a little more observant of the rules and politely police SMs who seem to want to step outside them and call in the Admins when needed. You would think that PW night would be the one night you wouldn't have to deal with this stuff but it seems worse.
