Re: Record score?
Man, I see people with 800 and such and I have no idea how that crap works. Most I've ever gotten in PR was a little over 400 and ever since then I've constantly gotten up to but not over 375. I gave up worrying about points because the scoring system has so many things that go into it that I can't keep track of it all. Usually when I'm doing my thing as a medicwhore and keeping the squad alive I get practically no points at all, but I get more fun out of it.

Re: Record score?
i don't think the op's intention was to brag. if anything, the intention was to see what scenario's have lead to the greatest point gains, and what tactics have been most effective. i've flown so so much in this game that i prefer to groundpound anymore. when i do fly, i take it in as a zen like period, completely focused on staying alive and delivering the most hurt possible to the opposing team. asking if others have been more succesful in different situations is more of an act to gain information that maybe i could use some other time. after all, there's no personal attachment to the pilot i play, or the avatar i use, and in turn, bragging has zero tangible gain. 0's and 1's on the interweb, epeen equals nothing. i do like, however, to improve and learn.
i remember playing usmc on wake a long time ago, and my opponent pilot chimpanzee (or some spelling variant). he was a base raper in every sense. the j-10 was his medium and the carrier was his canvas (of doom). i think the (toc) guys would remember this guy. i watched, and emulated and developed my own strategies to effectively bomb from unviewable altitudes (800-600). if chimp was placing 28th every game, yet still playing well, there'd still be information to take away. you see and find what's most effective, and you learn and improve upon it. same goes for any game right?
but the best monkey's create. pioneer monkey's of doom, with guns and stuff-dy.21

Re: Record score?
You making mention of flying just makes me think of all the people that play the role as a transport pilot to transport their team to the fight. They get a crappy deal if you think about it, I tried one night and seen, no points are awarded, if you get shot down with a squad load of friendlies in your chopper you get the negative TK score. So what is in it for them, the satisfaction that they knew that without them flying transport and if no one else does it then the team either has to swim, take a slow boat, or take and even slower apc to get into the action. And then on top of that, if you do get shot down with even one friendly in the helicopter with you, you get so much slack from it. There are situations where the enemy does move and what was a safe LZ 30 seconds ago is a hot oven you just flew into. So give the transport pilots the respect that is deserved to them.
Of course it is a different story with the people who call themselves pilots and can't get off the ground and if then they do, they can't land again. Give them the disrespect that they deserve, lol.

Re: Record score?
Sorry for saying that Root, but you know as well as the rest of the people that you can try your best to ask someone not to pilot till they practice more and then what happens, they jump back in and try again. I did take the advice and practiced on an empty server(still not the best, but better now). It is the people that do not listen when asked not to fly that erk me. Anyway, that it was the scoring I was getting at. Look at the score at the end of a round and you see that the pilot usually has hardly any score(if that is all he does) but contributes so much to the fight.

Re: Record score?
Personal responsibility comes into play here as well. I can usually fly choppers fairly well (spend a lot of time empty-mapping) but today on Ghost Train my graphics were stuttering as soon as I got airborne and crashed an entire squad into the top of Tunnel. So I grounded myself and left the airsupport squad.
If what you are doing or trying to do detrimentally affects the squad or the whole team, admit that it's not working, switch to something more useful and work on it later.

Re: Record score?
It seems like most of these stories of high scores are from mechanized units. People in either tanks or choppers, or whatever. I am still super confused about the scoring. I play to play, and play to win. If I kill more than I die, and help my squad accomplish their goal then I succeed.
As a sniper I know that at certain ranges I get bonuses it seems. For example If I shoot a target 250m out it seems like it scores better than a close range shot. And SL's are bonuses too.
With that said I like to know what other non-mechanized top scores are out there. Infantry scores I guess.

Re: Record score?
Well, I certainly didn't expect this thread to get raised from the dead.

But you can find out all about PR's scoring mechanics from the online manual/player guide.
In response to your query about seemingly getting bonuses for shots made at different ranges, that is precisely what is happening:- Snipers receive bonuses based on the distance that the kill was made, with the specifics listed below:
50m = 50%
100m = 100%
150m = 150%
200m = 200%
250m = 250%
Note – Bonuses will continue to stack by 50% for every additional 50 meters added to the kill range.

Re: Record score?
Personally I dont even pay attention to the score at the end of the round. Im usually already thinking of the next map and if Ive been Sqd leading, the approach im gonna take and sqd lay out. I still personally think that the scoring system is only making players think individually. I would perfer PR to move to a SQD scoring system, not individual. Hell, take away peoples names and replace them with their sqd name.

Re: Record score?
The only thing i look for at the end is my KD.
Easiest way to get a crazy score is A10 + commander.
I agree with Crombo above, but the scoring system is the only way to get an indication if a guys cheating.

Re: Record score?
If you have to have a score system I would go with a simple +/- ticket spread. Medics would be given + tickets for revives since they are essentially giving up their tickets for their teammates. You can also make requested kits and heavy vehicles worth tickets as well you can see who is using the team assets proficiently and who is wasting them. This could possibly help players spot out the griefers and will make people accountable for their actions.

Re: Record score?
I saw an A10 get 1600 the other day, best aviator, best combat, best player and best squad even though he was the only one in it.
I think they should double teamwork points, you get points from people in the squad. Thats how you got 200 for doing not much, you leecher

I guess this is because of the end round bonus for your KD ratio to the team"One Shot, One Kill"
