This is an entirely ignorant opinion based on the physical layout of the map and the restrictions of the terrain; it's something I'd like to try for two rounds, just to try it out.
Dam and Bridge are in different CP groupings. This means that they cannot be captured at the same time. The US has to capture dam and then bridge. MEC has to capture bridge and then dam.

Exactly. I want to change this. I think it's ridiculous that, once holding East Beach, the USMC cannot move on to Bridge, which is very close, and must be passed to reach Dam quickly from that point.

There's nothing to stop both beaches being assaulted, and then bridge and dam being hit simultaneously. How is that different from all the other maps where either a domino effect is executed, or a squad deep strikes and waits for certain flags to come into play?

Given the US air power on Jabal, I really don't see the problem.

I dont really care one way or the other for how the map plays out, but the difference would be that if both are captureable, the defenders have to spread out along two fronts. In this arrangement, it benefits the attackers because they can send their whole team against a smaller defending force.

If only one is captureable, the entire defending team can defend one CP. That is one tough nut to crack as an attacking force.

I see what you're saying now. I'll look at this map and see if it makes sense to have them in the same group like the beaches or City/Factory are. However, this probably places more difficulty on the USMC to defend those two once taken. I'll look at it.

we had this cp setup (dam and bridge in the same CP group) in testing (as you can see by the jabal loading screen its in the same CP group).

it was decided to make them seperate groups cause it spaced out the fighting too much and made it flag tag for the 2 points, rarely giving any chance for either team to press on to the beaches / city area...

however yea you make a great point and that was my point as well. It would be terrific if you guys could play test in this setup and write up a comprehensive test results for us to determine if its a suitable change.

This is my all time favorite PR map, for the reasons stated about, I think the original poster is a bit out to lunch

Yea it could use some more cover at bridge CP i agree..

The map gets very boring after a while. At least the US side has fun with good kits and some ass kicking. The insurgents all have **** kits and can't coordinate since they're not allowed a commander -- even so, they rarely lose.

The map takes over two hours in most cases, its a server killer because people leave or team stack. I don't HATE the map, but i don't love it. I love being US with the attack chopper. I hate being insurgent and walking across the map for 2 min cause all our spawn cars have been killed, then getting hit and dying from bleed and then walking all over.

I don't like dedicating a quarter of password nite to a map many people dislike.

Wrong map Switch. Jabal has the dam. You are probably thinking of Al Basrah.

Well I suppose if you're going to be picky about the mountains, beach, dam, ocean, "aircraft carrier" and such like, then sure they look different. Switch for president.

Yeah, I mean, c'mon, one team doesn't speak English, the other team gets UH-60s... they're all pretty much the same. Hell, I even mix up the MEC and the PLA sometimes; they both speak Foreign. Then again, so do the British.

I had to visit the bathroom due to the large amounts of laughter I had after reading this, you made my night...

I personally like the map "as is", although I would love for more cover to be present around the bridge flag.

I see people vacate every time, unless it is noon on Saturday.....
It is too big with no cover....you spend an hour fighting, just to look up at the tickets and still see 365-407, at which point you just sigh. It is not an AWFUL map, but it drags on, and on, and on, and friggin ON. There is no road from the West beach to the Dam, and only about 7 people on the planet know the way to drive the hummer up the cliffs to the Dam, and they never end up in the driver seat.... If you die, with no RP, well....say hello to a 15 minute walk.

    Overall...it's like any other, but GOD DAMN, it takes forever.....and EVER....and friggin E V E R !

I love this map. One of the best BF2 maps in my opinion. Open-ended and big with lots of space to maneuver.

I dont think there is a strong dislike against this map. As usual, some people dont like it. And some others dont like other maps. If we remove maps from rotation to make everyone happy, we will end up playing the same few maps over and over again.
